Macbook Pro Logic Board Replacement?

Hey; so my logic board on my macbook pro died the other day. I've had it for 16 months so it is out of warranty. Apple quoted me $800+ for the repair/replacement. Has anyone ever had to repair their's and recommend another option? At $800+ I would rather by a new pro.

I'd be really surprised if there wasn't a business near you that could fix that computer for 1/4 of that price.

Apple replaced my dads for free even tho there was no warrenty

yeah.. my roommates has broken twice, and both times they did it free

yea going tomorrow to check locally; I need to find an in too because it seems like everyone gets it repaired for free even though they are not under warranty...
