so my parents are going to get me a laptop for graduation and they wanted to know mac or pc. does anybody have any opinions? i have used pc for my whole life so would it be hard to switch over. +k for good answers. thanks
you are going to get fans from both sides screaming at you to get mac or pc. To be honest, both are really efficient operating systems and you will be happy with both.
Personally, I prefer pc just because it is a little bit on the cheaper side. I am running a HP Envy14 with corei7. It's awesome and is still cheaper than macs. Research what you are going to be doing with your computer and decide from there, but both systems are going to be great.
If you want a serious answer: go with what you're used to.
This is a debate between getting a standard car or an automatic. You've been using a standard your whole life then just stick with a standard. You know how to use it.
so just get a PC since that's what you've used your whole life. It'll save you enough over a mac for a new pair of skis too.
If they're paying for it get a mac, I think the quality's been stepped up now and it kinda justifies the price difference. There are better laptops spec wise for cheaper, but the cases aren't as slim/durable and nice.
Depends what you want to do though, any gaming get a windows laptop with better specs then a mac for the same price
well there is some truth to this, the quality of Macs definitely has been improved recently.
Where you're wrong is saying that the hardware is superior quality to that of other computers. A mac is using the exact same hardware as many other computers. Go onto the "build your computer" option on the apple site and you can see that the exact, identical product that you buy from them will be a good 40%-50% more expensive than buying it elsewhere. There's a reason Apple is the most expensive brand name in the world.
I'm talking more like the aluminum case and glass screen and what not. And if you check out quality brands like sony or lenovo they have pretty much the exact same prices on their upgrades.
This response hurts my head...he mean hardware not software.
Also..get a PC..you are used to it and it will be cheaper and probably have better hardware in it for $300-500 less. It just won't have a shiny screen or an Apple on the front of it...and apparently some people care about having their computer hip.
Macs are good for me because I don't game and I really don't know anything about computers. I need it to able to type and run Final Cut Pro, both of which I find easier with a mac.
