Mac V.S PC.

Hey I am getting a new computer and it pretty much just for editing. I can't decide between a mac or a pc. Also, what software is THE software these days. Please help....
 
if your inot production go for a mac, you have the all the editing software which was MADE for the mac, myself i am content with my PC although i do not do a lot of video editing but people i know that do have macs and they are happy with them
 
there's a reason that macs are the industry standard for graphics, phot, video, and multimedia editing in general. go with a mac.
 
Yeah, the reason is marketing.

Seriously though, if you're really into video editing try and find somewhere that you can try out final cut pro and adobe premiere. I prefer Final Cut but Premiere is very similar and can be just as good.
 
make sure you have lots of ram and hard drive space, a terrabyte might be a wise investment if you do a lot of editing
 
Marketing? 8 years working on Macintosh and I've had at most 12 lethal crashes where i had to restart the computer, oh yeah and ZERO viruses I doubt any PC user could claim this.

MacBook Pro with Final Cut Studio 2. LaCie 1TB, LaCie 500 GB, LACie 250 GB.
 
If you want to use premiere, just use a PC. Theres no need to load that on a mac when FC does everything premiere does plus a lot more.
 
get a mac, especially if you want it mostly for editing.

i went from a pc to a mac and when i tried my friends pc after like 4 months of using a mac, i couldnt stand it, everything about macs is just faster, smoother, easier, and just better.
 
i like my PC its faster than most mac books ive used, PCs are more customizeable but for ease of use for video editing go with a mac
 
go for the mac dude, i have mac book for myself but i use huge powermacs in my editing lab, no problems what so ever with macs, so simple and reliable
 
Macs thrive on hype and good marketing. They aren't really any better at graphic design or editing (personal opinion). I'm not biased either, I have a PC and a Macbook Pro.
 
^^yea there deff doing something right, their sales are growing a lot recently, becoming more mainstream i guess you could say
 
Yeah see i was a PC but now i am mac..

#1 the updated OS is really nice the quadrants or how ever... it is super nice to be able to keep a laptop desktop clean.

#2 i got a macbook but i would recommend a macbook pro just for the better video card.
 
um i have a pc with avid media composer and it is madddd nice. but the soft where is around 1500-2000 bucks so if you go the money i would get that...
 
There are so many cool details on my macbook pro that make it so much better than my last laptop (a PC) it not just marketing, although Apple is a marketing juggernaut. Its just a much better machine.
 
mac are so good for graphics and editing and stuff. i just got my macbook and i would never go back to pc, i love it. get final cut
