GF has a late 2014 MBP and her safari is acting wonky. Even though the default setting in Safari says Google for the search engine, no matter what, when she tries to search something it uses Yahoo.

Any ideas?

safari is garbage, google chrome for life.

I think chrome typically is more resourceful, like that is uses less power for the same tasks, so it is now my main browser. Doesn't it nor work as well with plugins though? I thought silverlight for netflix needed safari/firefox

I've never been one to give a fuck about if people post topic specific content in the threads but this has to be the furthest thing from ski gabber i have seen in a while

This is media & arts...?

DON'T USE CHROME. Use Firefox, it's written to serve users and the open web as well as being the only leading browser that is truly open source. Chrome and Safari are written to serve giant corporations and don't care about you or your privacy.

Or use The Onion Router, I don't care what you do but I just thought I'd let y'all know that Chrome and Safari don't care about your privacy.

Actually chrome is more resource intensive, not even just with power but makes a computer run slower. On my 5 year old mac chrome runs pretty slow, but safari breezes past.
