M&A stoke

I can get a roll of 135 scanned for 4€/roll, scanned on a Frontier, 40mb TIF files. Just send it to a lab, so the scans you get are actually good.

The only place I can go in my town for scans is London Drugs. For a (shitty) colour develop and scan is $9, but for B&W they use a send-out service.

I used the send-out service last time, and got a medium quality scan which was alright but not that great. This cost $22.50 which included a $6 developing charge. To get high-quality scans it cost a whopping $50 for black and white film, but only $6 for developing. it's absolutely ridiculous.

So by charging me $10 he is ripping me off, but significantly less.

Scan from send-out service (looks alright small but not so much big)

wow that's sick! congrats. The photo is sick, I would have liked to see it composed better with more power line silhouettes, or more detail in the foreground of the grass. (random critique, I know). But that's dope since when does IF3 have photo awards?

It got 200k hits in a day, it's certainly caught people's attention, but if it costs a lot, and I presume it will given that each lens needs a sensor, I doubt it'll sell well, and that's completely ignoring how well/bad it is to use/perform.

You guys make me sick, fucking photo snobs. This is a fucking innovative product. People always carry their phone around, and this will allow them to get better iq on their phones.

This tumor looks awkward to hold, use, pocket, and has no manual controls. At that size and price why not just have another camera, that you an hold properly with way better iq and good controls?

For that price you might as well get an X10 or the smaller Sony RX100 or the way smaller Canon S100.

That it's innovating doesn't mean something's good.

It's a parasite that lives off a phone and has no redeeming features.

No I always can appreciate critique! I too think it could use a bit more depth, however there wasn't much to work with behind it (you can judge by the condition of the railing about the rest of the campus...)

I might try seeing what it looks with more grass in the foreground, I havent touched that edit since I shot it 8 months ago haha

Are you denying that photography is dominated by instagram and facebook? This is going to give you excellent iq and you will be able to upload photos straight to the interwebs. I will not by one and it is certainly not pointed at you film guys

No I'm not, because I don't even consider instagram and facebook being a part of actual photography. It will not give you excellent image quality, not by a million miles, get an eye-fi card/ Nokia 1020 and you also can immediately post your snapshits to the internet.

It's an hilariously concept which makes everything more complicated.

Instagram/facebook people don't care about image quality and it's to clumsy and devoid of any control to be of any use to an actual photographer for that price.

Haha if you call instagram and facebook 'photography' then you must have lost it. That shit is for selfies and photos of cats. IQ doesn't matter for that crap.

Real photography happens with real cameras in the hands of real photographers in the real world with real snow and real cliffs and real mountains and real realness.

But seriously. The only people who are going to buy this are those who think their phone is the best thing for everything.

According to the video it's designed for "le quirky" people who hang their single key with Rubik's keychain and their actual glasses on hooks.

Why the "MD" in your name? I know you're studying to be a doctor and such, did you just wanna get rid of that period in front of your name?

I wanted to see how many people would sent me questions regarding their health if I did that.

And let's put it this way, a lot of NS'ers are worried about rashes.

If I ever see anyone with that I will punch them in the face and steal the Hasselblad body for it deserves a better home.

scored some contracts for montreal fashion week. The girl was last second in hiring me and I knew she had no other options. Her last filmer shot for 350/day, Im making 1200$ in two days of easy filming with her!

Oh. My. God. Seriously?

Visiting my parents right now. Have to re-install a scanner driver. 110mb for this bitch. Halfway done, and still 7 minutes left.

My parents seriously have internet from fucking 1994. I did better with Dialup in 2003.

Oh. Oh wow.

On a much more positive note: Stoked that I now have access to the darkroom at my school, which includes free chemicals, and access to a decent scanner and really nice printer. And I discovered that Arista films are rebranded Kodak/Foma and are half as expensive. So I will be shooting a lot of black and white now.

Ran through 4 rolls of tri x in my Yashica Mat today and I'm starting to get a lot better at finding and capturing moments in the street. Starting to figure out that I have to be patient and lurk around as opposed to trying to quickly grab moments as they pass by. Also getting more comfortable with asking random people for portraits. Today was the most fun I've had shooting in a long time, and I'm pretty sure I got a few great shots. Can't wait to develop them all tomorrow!

Getting 200 rolls in for 0,50€ a pop. Lots of different kinds; all expired though. Neopan 400 and 1600, T-Max and Delta 3200, Portra 160NC, Sensia, Astia, XP2, HP5 among others.

Also bought 500 feet of film (200 feet of T-Max 100, 150 feet of Maco Eagle and 150 feet of Polypan F).

Me: sitting at the NS office right now working while Mr. Mousseau does laundry. Dual cpu-ing it up with my laptop to proof emails and Jason's sweet setup to work from.

DAYUM. By the way just peeped your website and your work is very impressive.

Anti-Stoke:

Was super pumped on this shot I got yesterday of an old guy in a Marine dress uniform in front of the Senate House in Concord, NH. Was pretty confident it was one of the best pictures I've ever taken. Developed the roll today and this is what that frame looks like:

WHYYYYYYYYYY. The rest of that roll and the other two rolls that I developed in the same tank at the same time are perfectly fine. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Do you really shoot that much? I feel like you never post any photos (maybe just not on here?) Not being a dick, genuinely wondering.

I'll be selling of a lot of the film. I do shoot a lot (about 5 rolls a week), but you're right in that I don't post a lot on here (anymore). My scanner is busted, so I haven't seen any of the photo's I've shot over the last half year.

I've only shoot digital twice since Januari 1st (I've kept count), so I have a LOT of stuff still to scan (almost everything is developed though).

And thanks Plorr. I haven't updated my site in ages though...

I honestly wasn't trying to call you out, its just a shit ton of film haha. I would love to see more of your work, I've seen some stuff of yours on flickr that I liked a lot

I know you weren't.

I figured that for half a Euro each I couldn't pass it up. Especially because it's pretty good film (at least half of it is 'pro' quality film). I'm probably selling three quarters of it to some Lomography hipster folk (for 2€ a roll of course...) and keep the films I want to use myself.

stoked on getting a bunch of my film back from this summer, very unstoked on the fact that i have a horrific light leak apparent in a lot of photos. it's fucking weird though, it's in the same exact spot in about half the photos on one roll. can anyone explain this? it varies in intensity and sometimes it shows up in back to back photos, sometimes it was like every 4th photo, i just cant figure it out. anyone have any ideas?

this first one was kind of interesting because of the composition, but still lame:
