M&A stoke

Bought a Sekonic l-558 lightmeter (reflective/incident and 1 degree spot)

Bought a Hexar AF (for just 125€, couldn't pass it up).

I'm thinking of trying large format. Maybe I can find someone who'd like to show me the ropes or something.

Also: getting better at the developing process. More consistent and now that I've done I don't know how many rolls, it's not as cumbersome a process anymore. Really feeling confident with it.

Super addicted to photography right now.

This.

Also, just picked up an even better enlarger and a whole bunch of lightroom equipment for 25$ at a garage sale. I haven't even sifted through it all.

Just got my fstop Loka and am super impressed with it. It puts my dakine to shame.

On a sadder note. I seem to have lost all the progress on the wedding video I was editing because premiere won't load the footage when I open the project. Right when I open the wedding project (other projects work fine!) my System memory shoots way below 1 gb of free memory and the program crashes. Anyone know a fix to this? I've installed the CC version as well an had it working for a second but now even that crashes. I've cleaned up my computer an even restored disk partitions etc. please help! Haha

Well...anti-stoke. I just did a branny off a 8 or 9 metre bridge, and so I didn't slap the bottom of my feet I pointed my toes. There was only about 8 feet of water, I think I broke my foot.

Olympus XA showed up today. Thanks to Tomahawk for booking it up through FB. What should I load into it? Got some Tri-x, gold 400, portra 400/160 or gold 100. Hmm

Hooking* stupid iPad autocorrect. Ps anyone else use these things for photography? Been testing out this mini my mom got from school and I'm digging it! Screen is incredibly sharp and the mini size is great. Would be perfect to tether in a studio or something

I know you can run cards into iPads using an adapter, which is pretty neat for viewing pictures if you don't have a laptop.

I have never actually used the XA but the XA1 was my first camera, which is unfortunately the lesser model in the XA range without any rangefinderness but the two things it shares with it's rangefinder brothers is the size and dead silent shutter.

So good for street, so inconspicuous and it actually fits in a jacket pocket.

I fucking love my XA's. I've got an XA and two XA2's and absolutely love 'em to death. Especially the XA is great. I don't use the actual rangefinder, but just use it as a scale focus camera (like you would the XA2). Advantages are there is an actual scale, the focusing is much easier and - best of all - there's a needle so you can actually see what shutter speeds the camera is choosing for you.

Recommendations? Get a lot of film. I burn through film like mad with those things.

I'm getting a second XA as a backup because I couldn't live without mine anymore. It comes everywhere with me. That's the beauty of them. I've got several different backpacks I use for daily stuff and each has an XA with a couple rolls of film in it.

The first time I got an XA I was just blown away by how small it is.

It's the curves. Them sexy curves.

First camera I ever shot 35mm film with was an XA2. It's still somewhere in my parents' house. I'd love to get my hands back on it. Incredible little camera. If I ever found it, I'd throw some electrical tape over the olympus logo and go super ninja with it.

Not only stoked on the shots, but also coloring for the first time in Resolve! I'm very impressed with how far I was able to push GoPro content - might upload a before/after correction+grade if anyone is interested.

A few sunset shots over Portsmouth Harbor, NH.

Camera: GoPro Hero3 Black Edition

Support: DJI Phantom

Corrected and Graded in Davinci Resolve 9 Lite

Just watched that video on facebook Chase! Real impressed with the quality and like you said, how well the footage graded. The kid I shoot weddings with wants to get one to fuck around with, how are you liking it?

So far, it has been a PHENOMENAL tool for such a small investment. The learning curve is very short to fly it, but takes a bit longer to master flying smoothly and accurately for video - I still have yet to fully harness the capabilities of mine.

If he is using it around clients though, make sure he is careful and has practiced flying enough beforehand. I'll to post a link on your Facebook showing a horrific miscalculation from someone shooting a wedding...

My makeshift darkroom (/bathroom) is getting together more-and-more. Before I had to convert it into a darkroom, which took like 15 mins. Now I've made a system where it's done in about 30 seconds. Now, if only I had a faucet thermometer thingy for constant water temps...

Unless you are doing e6 it really doesnt matter, just learn to test the temp by touch. I never check my temps right up front anymore but am always within 1 or 2 degrees, which is completely fine for c41, and for b&w I use room temp distilled water.

^hahaha oh my god, I was expecting it to slightly touch down on his head, but that thing went full out aimed at his head, Christ that was good.

Was doing a follow cam behind a friend of mine, didn't slow down fast enough, ate shit, essentially threw my 60D down onto the pavement, picked it up, it was completely fine, minus a few scuffs. Still works perfectly.

Yes I have the video.

Not gonna lie, it was my first thought. But he yelled "fuck" and I yelled "my camera." Twas two different people. He landed on me when we fell though so he was completely fine haha.

Just received an email from B&H with a small gift card. It's not worth a lot, but I'm stoked on the principal of them rewarding customers! ...and now to turn it around on more equipment...

Einstein #2 ordered. I was debating a second strobe and realized there really is nothing better priced with the comparable features and nothing priced higher with better features that's worth buying.

It really does impress me how cheap they sell them for, given how expensive everything photography-wise is, I could easily have seen them going for a grand

Got a gig filming college classes for a dvd series, not exciting but it's a lot of time filming so I am hoping it works kind of like photography pushups and helps me hone my fundamentals. Stoked!

I know this. But at the same time I hardly know the guy (facebook friend) so I offered to pay, plus it's only for one or two rolls until I hopefully get a scanner, and it's a lot less than the $50 that it would normally cost, so really not too bad for me.
