This is the first video I have made with the GH3 and I am beyond impressed with it so far. Extremely glad I picked it up and am looking forward to snagging a redrock micro adapter on monday.
I'm laughing pretty good at this one...

Jaymay, I really dont understand this purchase. I think you are just being a 1.2L whore. You claim to need it for wedding video, then why the fuck would you want ef glass in the first place. Canon focus rings are some of the worst around, and that includes their L glass. Zeiss would have been a much better choice, or a rokkor 58 1.2 for extreme wedding bokeh, bitches love wedding bokeh
but weathersealing! and he has CPS! and only 750 after trade!
That was the cash he threw. He traded a Siggy 50 f1.4 along with it. Fair deal.

Yeah but really who gives a fuck? All you do is complain about how shitty everything is. Jamie will take some great pictures with that lens end of story. Fuck, you can take great pictures with a kit lens if you know how to use it right. All of your posts just seem to be about the quality of equipment as opposed to the results.

Well yeah, if I thought about it more I probably could have gotten something else. However, I woke up the day after dealing with a REALLY shitty focus ring on my sigma 50, saw this deal, contacted the guy, and was able to swap the sigma for it. Like Sean said, I only added 750, it has autofocus, I can service it with my CPS membership if need be, and it's an improvement to what I had.
I wish the Rokkor-X 58 1.2 worked on FF, I've heard 50/50 results even with conversion :\

See if you actually knew me at all you would know that was not intended to be taken seriously and was friendly banter between 2 people who talk about this kind of stuff all the time.
And who cares? Lots and lots of people. from the engineers who get payed a LOT to design it to the manufacture who is selling products to professionals, to the pro who demands quality and perfection for his clients that demand nothing less then flawless images at the end of the day. The biggest commercial markets for photography are fashion and advertising, and in both these realms optical clarity is of the highest importance. When you are spending big money on gear, people care. 1.2k is a lot more then most of the people on here will ever spend on a lens, so if you are dropping the money get the best bang for the buck. Which optically, is not the 50L, but it has other pros jamie benefits from. Seriously, go onto any real photo forum(m&a is a joke), people care. Image quality doesn't make a good photo, but it sure as hell helps make a client happy at the end of the day.

Just released this year's tour announcement video for one of my clients, GrooveBoston. This was my first time collaborating fully with a motion graphic artist and I'm pretty stoked on the result!
I did the video content, while JPK Inventions (http://www.janpaulkaim.com/) developed all of the graphics over it.
