LSS is the new TBC

TBC was good, but not good enought to make sponsers want to make another one.

I put LSS and TBC right around the same level

thats why i asked, didn't know what you're getting at. i'd say lss is the forefront of urbans, while tbc is the forefront of bc booters (ski movies)...unless you want to prove me wrong and release pterodactyl blood already.

well yea, slow mo is horrible if its used like what MSP does. but take TBC for example. Most of the shots were barely even slowed down. they were like 95% speed aside from the obvious slo mo shots, which were sparingly used for the most part. and I thought TBC was the one movie that matched the music the best. It was like music with sick skiing on the side, instead of vice versa.

and the whole reason I hated Show and Prove was the loong pillow lines and repatative 3s. To tell you the truth, the only part that was even appealing to me at all was Sean Pettit, who I thought killed it way more than Kye or Tanner did that that movie. Im a park rat who skis powder, so watching someone ski pillows over and over is in my opinion the worst. Powder skiing will even be boring for the most part unless theres a kicker to hit or a cliff with a flat takeoff to do some tricks off.

TBC was cool because of the way it was shot and the way the sequences went with the music. Its makes you just go 'wow, if I tried that I'd die' at the kickers because they're so insane. In LSS you look at the BC kickers and think 'That looks like the most fun kicker in the world, I wish I was there hitting it too.' It gets me way more stoked about skiing.

The point is. TBC was best movie of 2006 and the sponsors can fuck off and support another one. LSS is the best move this year.

Corduroy and Photoplay were better in my opinion. Ski Porn was good too, but kinda for more of a general audience. It would be the film from this year that I would show people if they asked me what kind of skiing I like.

what if we jsut created a mega super video and stole slips from a bunch of good movies. lss tbc shanghai 6 ski porn skimatic etc would be weird but maybe ski....or just a stupid idea i dunno it would probably fuck with the flow of them all

to Kris Ostness.....

please PLEASE make/edit a ski movie next year, i only purchase one movie and i am so lost this year as to what to get this year...

ski porn or lss i guess?

someone who knows someone who knows Kris please deliver this message.

you are a complete idiot, lss wasnt even as good as shanghai 6 and neither could ever in their wildest dreams compare to tbc

disclaimer: haven't seen any of this year's movies. yet.

but TBC was way above any movie I've ever seen, from global storming on. I could watch it on repeat for a long time and not be bored. strike 3 was way up there before. that and stereotype (I unfortunately haven't seen royalty).

actually, I think there are way more similarities between tbc and stereotype. The flow was just there, period. Even with parts I didn't care for as much (the nopoles dude in stereotype, parts of mike nick's part (not all of it)), both those movies just had something on a higher level.

Strike 3 didn't have the same flow, but skiing just seemed to blow up to a new level that year, and strike 3 captured it all pretty damned well.

i dont see how any of you guys could say any ski movie is shitty....ski movies have dope skiing that should be good enough

I don't see it. I like TBC better... they are too different to compare in my mind.

you are probably one of the dumbest people on the earth.

Level 1 has some of the BEST riders. Tim Russel? Liam Downey? Corey Vanular(even though he didnt film much)? Travis Redd? I would rather watch the Level 1 skiiers then your PBP or TBC crap. They keep everything styled.

so straight up...you ahve one shot to make it in the film industry. you have an unlimited budget. you can film anything, with anyone, hell you can bring urban rails up to AK and set them up in the middle of nowhere (hah that actaulyl sounds pretty sweet for downtime, specialyl if you had aheli to help you set them up....). if you want.

anyways money no option. you pick...

"Tim Russel? Liam Downey? Corey Vanular and Travis Redd?"

over

jon, tanner, tj, stian, sage, vanular, jacob and brandon?

bullshit. they're some of the sickest techy rail riders, because thats what they focus on and/primarily ride. name one of them that would have destroyed chads like tanner (go on say it), or any other of the most epic bc booters out there.

and to clarify levl one " lacks the riders, location, and argueably the music." to attain tbc's level. no hate, just saying that what makes TBC the best ski movie ever is its location, riders, music-editing, (and the other two thinks i listed earlier) that no other company has come close to yet.

How are people comparing Ski Porn to LSS? Ski Porn is good for what it is, but LSS is just amazing. To me skiing is all about style, and Berman and co.'s latest offering basically writes the book. I mean, Corey Vanular...I've never been so stoked in my life. I put my skis on the carpet and stood on them in bare feet just pretending to ski switch. The riding, the music, the wind-up nun, its all perfect. I also love l1p's editing style; always cutting, panning, zooming, changing focus, etc., its just so exciting to watch. I think the Rube Goldberg machine wasn't the best idea, but they made it about as cool as it could have been.

As for TBC...it was a great movie, but it had almost zero flow, the intro had nothing to do with any other part of the movie, i had to listen to tanner equate himself to a dying person sans medicine, and bigger isn't always better. I'd take Vanular, Stephan, Downey, Colby West, or Russel over most of TBC any day.
