Low in the DIN range

I'm about to pick up a pair of skis with Salomon S916 bindings (DIN 9-16). My DIN setting is 10-11. I know it's not ideal to be at the lower end of the spectrum, but is it ever a problem? I know I can sell them and go with S914's, but that just seems like an unneccessary hassle.

You neva wanna be too close to the lowest DIN setting or the highest. you should get the S914s if the DIN setting goes down to like 7, but if it starts at 9 or so, then I don't know. You need to give out more info on your weight and each binding.

 
get a shop to do a release check on them.

As long as it's not on the lowest or highest setting, it shouldn't be a big problem. 11 would be just fine.

well i have heard from respect ppl that no you cant be on the highest or lowest din.

But i have heard from salomon reps and other respected people that its ment to be used on any din even if it was the lowest or highest...

i think you will be fine i nvr had problems w/ my 914s @ 14 so ur ok

ya i would set it at a 1.5 or 2 maybe. no 2 is pushing it u don't want to get hurt.

dont take it to the shop to get them set properly, they will just crank them down as low as they'll go. you have to be a tall, fat man who is an agressive expert skier with tiny feet to actually have them set properly in those bindings. you can have them set up to the red zone for long periods of time without it causing problems with your springs in your bindings otherwise you should crank the dins down when ever you put them away for a period of time. also put your boots in the bindings when your adjusting your din and make sure that your front and back dins are the same
