Loveland Ski Area hiring a Park Manager

As many of you know, Loveland didn’t have a park last year due to Covid concerns/finances.

They very much want to build a park this year and moving forward, and as some of you know, they’ve built fun jib parks the last handful of years.

If any of you in CO have experience designing, building, maintaining parks and are looking for a new opportunity—or if you know anyone who might be a good fit—PLEASE reach out to Loveland!

This could impact whether there’s a park this year, and it’d be such a shame to not have one because of lack of qualified management to execute it.

Just a PSA.

Someone apply so I can ski Loveland’s park

Maybe it would be a good idea if they posted that on their Instagram or Facebook (I don't have Facebook so maybe they did and I am just unaware)? I was trawling through the comments of their previous Instagram posts the other day because I was curious about the status of the park and I saw people were asking specifically about the park status for this year.

Here is a link to the job posting for reference... thinking about a career change from engineering ;)

EDIT: I am sure they posted about hiring employees in general but they should mention the park manager position specifically...

my home mountain, makes me think of when i was little and they had the park over on chair 6 (is it 6? can’t remember the number, the little one between 2 and 1) and i remember that they used to share the pipe cutter with keystone so they would have this pretty nice quarter pipe at the bottom below the jumps. but i never hit that nor the jumps cause i was a scared grom, mostly just the big butter box at the top of the park haha. always think back to that park though, wish i could have skied it when i actually learned better.

what i mean by that is it would be awesome if loveland came back a bit with the park. i’ve not been there so much the last ten years but i remember it was always sort of declining after they moved the terrain park over on chair 1. probably won’t ever be like it once was but the right person could make a dope difference! loveland is the shit, would love if they had a rockin park again

Yeah, I hope the new park manager could help with that. I think the 2018/2019 season it was pretty good and they had it off of chair 6 again, but it was in a different location than the one you are probably thinking of (it's in the video on their website). 2019-2020 they kept a smaller one that was again accessed from chair 1 and I wasn't a huge fan of the location, it was limiting because it was in a narrower and shorter run. The features themselves were well done but it seems like there is a lot more real estate off of chair 6 and hopefully they bring that back.

The cool part is they are somewhat responsive on their Instagram (or they were prior to this) and they put in a feature I asked for... maybe they had wanted to put it in anyways though (mellow fat urban on downtube)

Damn, that sucks. Hopefully they can find somebody. A lot of places were hiring and struggling to find good people this year it seemed. Also bummed I never made it to Loveland when I lived in CO. Drove by it a ton obviously but never actually rode there.

I don't think I know anyone in CO still looking for a spot but I'll ask a few friends.

Def agree that they should post about it on socials to let people know about it.

The one on lower tempest you’re talking about is actually just an early season park they maintain before there’s enough snow made on the flushes (lookers right of lift line 6) and/or before 6 opens. They also do the really small opening weeks one right on mambo/home run). 19/20 they did build the larger park off of 6 on the flushes.

@gravel The park in recent years has been really cool! There was a major lull several years ago that you mentioned, but they’ve put a lot of work and taken a lot of pride in building really fun and well maintained features. They’re not building big jumps, but it’s really cool. And, they’re not trying to be Breck or Keystone, etc.

The old park you’re talking about was on Roulette where they built that huge hip where people were damn near haul rope level boosting lol. Different times for sure.

Loveland is really fun and has a great vibe, you should come check it out again now that the cat runs and more terrain up high is open more often.

Rusty, if you know anyone, let them know! Loveland needs a park! If you come back through CO, come check it out, I think you’d dig it.

I liked CO but didn't really dig in that much in any spot I was. I'd consider it but pretty stoked to see how we can grow the parks at Crystal in WA the next few years. I feel like I'm on the ground floor of what could be pretty sick, and mgmt seems to be on board. No jinxes but it feels like the ideal pplace you hope for. At least enough to stick around for a few years and see if the program can grow.

I shared the job on facebook. All I can really do. I'll message a few CO friends too. Hopefully Ya'll get someone solid. PLace seems pretty cool. Always wanted to check it out.

Thanks a lot, dude! ‘Preciate ya .

good luck out there this season, I’m sure it’ll be sick.

There’s a few rails up so I assume so. They’re pretty well groomed and maintained too

Good to here! Also gad dang stupid spam fuckers. Loveland seems chill

They did hire someone, the lil early season park is well built and maintained, and they are blowing snow for a build in the typical Flushes location off of 6/Ptarmigan.

People are stoked!
