im lookin for a new park ski because i ride the chronics and would like a ski i could use more readily on rails cause the chronic is my racing ski. im quite large 6'1" 230lbs so im gonna need a good ski which will hold up decently well i dont care about chipping or superficial damage. ive been looking at some antems, invaders, and afterbangs but cant decide. i think the invaders are not suited for my size (correct me if im wrong) so theyre out, id like to know how the swing weights are on the anthem and afterbangs, which is better on rails, jumps, butters, and general riding, and also if there is anoother ski i can get for around 300 that is better suited state it. thanks and karma for helpful answers

ps i already searchbarred, nothing really helped

Honestly I'd go with them afterbangs. Me and my friends switched skis for a day and i really enjoyed riding on them. There built like a skateboard to support any weight is a great ski for rails. good on jumps to. Can't tell yo9u much more about it because I only rode them for a day. Cool design to! Hope this helps.

Hey i was in a similar position, looking at Line skis and Armadas. I had a set of chronics that were too short for my 6'1 200 lbs body. I ended up going with a set of Alpha 2's, they are slightly softer than the chronics I had, and butter nicely due to the elf shoe tech. I've only had a couple of days on them, but thought I'd share my experience.

if i'd go for a railski in the near future i think i'll go for the afterbang...
ps: i digg your avatar!Jeep willys mb/ford gpw = awesome !

The afterbangs r sick but very flexy. They suck for jumps but r good for rails. Armada makes some sick skis otherwizzze I ride the AR6's and they r not to flexy but still give you that fun flex but r rly good for jumps aswell. They are also good for allmountain. some skis r amazing in park but suck anywhea else these r sick everywhea id say.

Peace

the volkl wall is money in the park. its decently long, 185cm, and semi-stiff, so when you center mount it you'll feel stable on jumps and carving turns. it isnt heavy either, so its super fun when bouncing around on rails.

if you want a park-ready ski go with the walls. you can find last years blue ones for under 3hundo. ...or i can talk to my rep and get you this years mounted with jesters for approx 25% off

i think volkl walls would be good also. I have them and i feel like they are pretty stiff and durable

At your size, the afterbang would just be dreadful. I have a pair of Rossi s5. 185 they are pretty big and fairly stiff, but some of my friends have ridden them that are around your weight and they have a really nice flex if you are heavier. I am selling them too. 450 cdn. with the axial 140...

ok thanks all, i was thinkin the walls but i couldnt find anywhere that had them for cheap or last years model if anyone knows of a place/ website that i could get them at it would be good

thanks for ur posts

Volkl Wall

Armada AR6

both are good skis for rails, jumps, and all mountain

i have wall's and theyre amazing, and ive also heard good things about the ar6 for what youre looking for.

wall's would be a bit stiffer

Armada ar6 or volkl walls. There both amazing skis (ar6 is cheaper) and from what i read the walls come in 185. Ar6's would be nice and soft for you and there amazing skis for everything from rails to jumps and i absolutly love them in pipe. Also, armada el rays would be sick for you. There pretty soft for rails good for jumps and a little bit of all mountain and come in 185. And they are fairly cheap. I've heard amazing things about them. hope this helps!

you are very large and none of those skis would really be great. they would all feel like noodles. im pretty big myself about 6 3 200 lbs and used to ride ar6s. they are a little more than what you are looking to spend but a really durable ski that held up great for me and were really fun cruising all over. they held up really well on jumps(especially bigger ones, never washed out) and did fine on rails. i think they would be good to look into. you are basically going to want to look at some stiffer park skis. because of your size. also check out volkl walls and moment reno jibs

yeah, i got ar6s and they are so sick. already got edge damage with 5 days of riding though, but thats really uncommon with armadas.... they are pretty soft, a really good flex for me and im 115 pounds and 5 foot 6, but i think someone with more wieght would suit them perfect. they are really light, and have good swing wieght

The afterbang's are sick, really good pop. You could try a slightly wider ski than a classic park ski (90mm- 95mm waist) for a little durability due to your height. Maybe something with like 100mm waist. K2 makes really solid park skiis too, and they have a number of good options.

i had anthems last year and loved em. super lightweight and fun. great park ski. but if you want somthing super durable i would go with the afterbangs. im not sure about the sizing tho.

dont get the invaders. the afterbangs are really good but since ur height and weight u prolly dont want them cause you'll flex too much landing switch and fall. the anthems are your best bet. their amazing all around.

im 6'3" 160lbs and finding a perfect length is way too fuckin hard, dont go with line at all ski sizes for this year are for midgets and the durability isn't too good. For durable skis wit longer lenths you have armada park skis, k2 extremes, liberty hazmats, volkl walls, amplid c7s, and on3p blue steel

wow this is old but looking at it i wanna answer some questionsi use the chronics as a racing ski because a) im poor and b) they actually feel great through the gates and doing the turns. i would buy some volkl race skis in a heart beat but i cant drop 1g on skis ever so i keep my twintips
