Lost semi final lacrosse game

alright, this is a 100% total rant. if u dont care then gtfo.

alright so im a HS junior and we made it to the semi finals of the state tourney for varsity lacrosse and I am the starting goalie. We are a smaller school with not too big of a program and we are playing this huggge catholic high school on their really nice field so I was really pumped (under the lights).

So 1st half was sick, I was playing unreal. It was 4-2 we were losing, and I already had 16 saves which is unheard of.. like totally unreal.

Our team seemed somewhat unenthusiastic, but when the 2nd half started, we just fucking sucked. Our defense sat there, we did not slide to the open men cutting or anything... we literally just fucking sat there and i kept making unreal saves because i was so pissed and then i kept running it up the field and making sick clears and then guess what, our attack just gave up the fucking ball. they didnt even make one pass. They just turned it over and looked at the ground.

I was so fucking excited for this game and my team saw this oppurtunity as a way to not have practice anymore... fucking bullshit.

I had 29 saves tonight, my personal record is 18 and the school record is 21. This is a crazy amount.... i played amazing... but i guess no one on my team cares...

Exactly. It sucks that your team lost, but you can't win by yourself.

On a somewhat related note, yesterday my college baseball team (D-3) lost in our conference championship. We were up 3-2 in the bottom of the 8th, our pitcher had been dominating but a few errors and a walk tied it. Then with the bases loaded, one bad pitch...and a grand slam ended our season.

But nobody expected us to even make it that far. Still, it would have been awesome to win, especially over a top 5 team (I'm pretty sure) in the country.

At least you played well, though. I rode pine for my game.

Sorry for the long post, but if you can rant so can I.
 
dude get over yourself, sure you had a good game but sometimes your team has an off game. you sounded like the biggest cocky dick ever in that rant, i hope you aren't a captain now or next year either.

its called being a team player, look into it.
 
ive always had mad respect for lacrosse and hockey goalies. see we have the opposite on my team. we all try really hard but our goalie is actually like 400 pound fat fuck. he always just sits there with his finger up his ass during practice and during games. grr it really pisses me off.
 
yea, i was being a team player, trying to get everyone into the game...

thats why i started to get pissed cause everyone was like, "fuck it!!"....

everyone was being selfish as fuck

whys everybody hating on this guy. He had a school record game and was excited about it. But despite the game of his life his team let him down. He has a right to be pissed. It seems as though the rest of the team didnt care and wanted the season to be over. Sucks your seasons over, but congrats on the good game.
 
ya 29 saves is sick but are u playing in like fucking texas or some shit or somewhere where lacrosse basiclly is no existant
 
Thats why its a rant man. Theres only so much you can do to get your team into the game, if their not into its extremely frustrating. As a goalie myself I know exactly how you feel. Just think, if you didnt make those saves your team wouldve lost wayyyyy worse.
 
its just that you described your performance and saves as "unheard of" and "unreal" and "sick"

i understand that it is frustrating to have your team play poorly but there isnt anything you can do about it sometimes, better luck next year...its just highschool lacrosse, my team lost by one goal in semis after 4 rounds of playoffs as the bottom seed in the league. then the next year we were the two seed and lost in quarters.
 
Give us a link to an article or something... If your performance was so legendary im sure there must be one somewhere...
 
Same deal with my team in our last game.
On a plus note I sent some kid to the hospital from laying him out into the track surrounding the field (his knee skin was all torn off flapping off and shit.
 
i was terribly sick today, and im part of our starting defense and, well i see people dont like cocky people, but im good

so we played this team, Wilton, out of league, and we figured we would get raped. they are like the 3rd best program in CT (we're from NY). so according to everyone, we won 3-2 in overtime. our goalie had like 20 saves and the kid that filled in for me on defense fucked up ball watching and could have cost us the game, luckly they only scored once on his terribleness.

but i mean, as a defender, i know how emotion you goalies get so im not gonna be on your ass for being cocky, it sucks man, our offense sucks and our defense leads out team, and at the end they like dont point fingers but im just like you guys fucking suck....
 
Dude I'm so sorry to hear that. 29 saves is utterly insane for a mens lax goalie. I know how it feels to lose a game like that too. my senior season of lacrosse we made it to the state finals and lost by one goal. It was one of the shitiest experiences ever. At least you have one more year to try and accomplish it. Work hard in the offseason and try and get your teammates to do the same. I hope everything works out for you next season
 
holy shit. 29? Thats sick man. Props go to you for that. But like everyone is saying, contrary to popular belief, you really cant carry your team. You got one year left. Work your ass off and you'll be an animal. Don't sweat it duder.
 
Dude, same thing happened to my team too, we lost to a team that we had just beaten the week before, and we lost 14 seniors and will only have 5 returning varstiy players
 
cool story. welcome to my last year playing lax in highschool except it was at state championship. and we were actually good
