Looking to buy first pair of skis

Hello Everyone!

This is my first NewSchoolers post. I am a 20 year old college student who just got on his first pair of skis in December. Right off the bat I really enjoyed it. I've gone another time since then and I'm going again this Saturday to Stratton. I would like to buy my own gear for next season or maybe even for the end of this season if the price is right. I plan on skiing two more times in addition to this upcoming adventure.

If you have any gear suggestions for a novice skier who isn't looking to break the bank, that would be great!

Thanks for your time!

Read that and many more article on that site.

Get fitted by a well regarded bootfitter/shop in your area and buy boots first. Well fitting boots will make even the crappies rental skis more enjoyable and with whatever funds you have leftover you can shop for skis.

How big are you? Where do you live? Home mountain?

Thanks for the advice! I will definitely check that article out. I am 6' 0" about 210 pounds. I live in southern Vermont so I am blessed to have some very high quality ski mountains within an hour of me.

Not sure if I have a "home mountain". I went skiing my first time at Stratton and I went to Killington my second time

Cool, I wasn't sure if you'd driven up from Connecticut or someplace like that and had a local hill.

I'n sure someone here can recommend a good bootfitter in southern Vermont.
