Looking for Fort Lewis College and Durango Info

I'm really concidering moving down there for spring semester, basically because its inxpensive and I wont be living at home anymore.

Anyone go there? or know what its like? What sort of vibe does it have? Is the education worth anything?

Even if you've only been there for a trip or something pipe in, I've been looking for reviews on that place but cant really find anything with the focus on college experience or being a young person in Durango or anything
 
I'm gonna be starting there this spring too. I've hung out with a couple of kids from the fort and they all say good things about it. They all really like there professors, it sound like there is a lot to do (Outdoor pursuits looks awesome!), parties are good, and the school just a good vibe. Everyone I've met who goes to the fort hitherto is super nice. Those are just my observations, but I'm pretty excited.
 
Went to the Fort for 2 years...pretty awesome place, especially if you like doing anything outdoors, climbing, biking, playing in the river, skiing, backcountry...its all there and a bunch of people to do it with. Not a ton of girls though, I think the guy - girl ratio was like 4-1...but still a good time. Outdoor pursuits is awesome!!! Use it!!! Coalbanks and Red Mountain pass are awesome for backcountry and bc kickers. Durango Mountain Resort (purgatory) is only about 30-35mins from campus. I had a 4pm class on fridays and would ski with the prof in the mornings before class....Plus if you get a chance go ski Silverton...big mountains out there. GL
 
I'm taking classes at the fort right now and I have nothing but positive things to say about it.

The school itself is awesome. Super small (both in number of students and physical size) so it's easy to get from one class to the next in no time, and if you ride a bike you can be anywhere on campus within 3 minutes. The professors are all great, haven't had a bad one yet. On top of that, a lot of highly esteemed profs come here for the location and the small size, so we get some amazing people.

The location is perfect for anything outdoors. Literally, if it take place in the outdoors it can be done here in/around Durango. As for the town itself, it's the perfect blend of small but things to do. It's easy to find parties if your into that, and just as easy to fill your time in other ways if you choose.

I would highly recommend coming here.
