Looking for filmer in Whistler..

Word, those guys all film more talented skiers that I film. Way to prove my point...

This statement is confusing to me. I think Liam filming skiers like Kieren are a great example of exactly what you're talking about. That's exactly how I started, so im confused what you're trying to say.

I was avoiding posting here but this is getting ridiculous. First and foremost, it is bullshit that this has turned into a discussion about Zac and his skills/what his work is worth. Leave Zac out of it other than to refer him to the OP as a potential filmer in Whistler(along with any other filmers people want to recommend) who the OP can then personally contact and inquire further about the job- that is 100% where NS's involvement in stuff like this ends. I know Zac well and I can tell you that despite all the bullshit you give him, he works fucking hard for everything he gets, he buys all his own gear and thrives/struggles on his own dime- that says a lot about him when so many kids on here are bought cameras/equipment by their parents only to lose interest or not fully pursue film/photography.

It is absolutely none of anyone in this threads' business what Zac's/DTF's rates are and what jobs he choses to take or not to take as a freelance cinematographer, and the discussion/criticism of that is not appropriate in a public forum.
 
I would argue that Evan operates a steadicam better than just about anyone in the game. And I am struggling to understand what edits you are talking about with "shitty" skiers? Evan films his friends, he doesn't give a fuck about being pro or not, I see him shooting day in and day out with homies that ski for fun just as much as I see him with "pros". Furthermore, he lives on his own dime, so how do you recommend making money filming poor skiing?
 
I already said that he's improved over the years, but the friends he happens to film are mostly known and recognized athletes in the Newschool circles, making the highlight of his edits the fact that he is filming something that gets the crown going most not on the shots themselves, but the skiing.

My pointis was and is, the same I've PMed Evan some time ago, that I think he is good with the camera now, definitely nothing I said earlier against that, but that most of his 'fame' comes from filming athletes from a prominent area for skiers highlighted for newschool stuff, not that he's bad at what he's doing right now.

It seems that everyone shitting on me has never picked up a camera and tried to make an edit, Sure most of my edits are pretty similar but its because thats my "style" of filming.

On topic: No, Zac shouldn't be making 500/day; firstly because it's not 'healthy' for a 15 y/o to make that kind of money, because he will lose all sense of what is normal, second because it has to do with his gear. People making 500/day film with high-end 100.000$ rigs. Zac has invested what, a couple thousand in his DSLR set-up and let's face it, for an edit that's ok, but people filming for 500$ a day crank out higher shit than he does.

Personally I don't know too much about video but his edits are with the better up here, but not anything like what the big producers bring out (PBP, L1P, TGR, MSP etc.).

 
Once again, you make edits for the PUBLIC. It's called constructive criticism and if you can't handle that then stop. We don't have to film and make edits to judge yours.

If you guys have a problem with his filming, pick up a fucken camera and go film yourself, stop hating on a kid for no fucken reason. This, I get shat on all the time, but from the time I have gotten my camera to now I have improved greatly. I have great respect for Moxley, Heath and other guys in the industry. But I do believe that chances for money, even if slim should be given thought like the OP.
 
everyone needs to stop fucking hating on zac. 99.9% of NS cant even come close to making as good of edits as he does. and no his mom didnt buy it for him. he works hard as fuck and pays for all his gear.

Wait so this is to Eheath and DTF, how many of your edits are for free and just filming with friends because it kind of breaks my heart to know the people you're filming are actually paying for your time haha. And I know you have to make money for equipment/etc I'm just really ignorant about this subject.
