hey guys i need a ski for my dad. 5'8" and 160 pounds. he needs a ski that is going to handle well at speed. so fairly stiff. he doesn't jump or do tricks or any of that. so probably no twins. but basically i'm after a ski about 100 to 110 wide underfoot and that can charge on groomers. a one ski quiver in the pnw. i know it's not easy, but we need something that will charge groomers and pow. he's got some k2 apache outlaws that he likes. but he needs more powder performance. he like a ski with a big gs sidecut as well. he likes big sweeping gs turns. i was thinking:
prophet 100 or 115?volkl mantra?
what else is out there?

volkl gotama. Full ELP rocker, super low rocker, but no flat spot. stiff skis, so they rip groomers even with the rocker, and still ski pow well because they are pretty wide.

K2 apache explorer, On3P Cease and Decist, line mothership, one of the new line big mountain skis, armada arv possibly?

thanks for all the replies guys. keep em coming. he's keeping his apache's so we're looking for a more powder oriented ski now.

ON3P Wrenegade sounds like a perfect fit for him. Its basically a GS ski on steroids, likes to go fast, straight, and charge. If he can handle the stiffness it would be a killer one ski quiver for the mankey snow we get up here in the PNW.

line prophet 100 or armada arv. these are both durable and hi performance skis. oh and they have cool graphics too. i dont think there's any non twin tip skis that can ski pow. and if hes looking for a binding, get the marker griffon and look px Ti.

Last years Darksides were made wider than the hellbents. Shows how seriously people should take your advice... and also, if he has outlaws (129-92-115 ) and he wants a pow ski, it doesn't make sense to recommend skis that are 3mm wider at the waist (ARV - 130-95-119 ) .

I don't know why half my post came out in bold, I guess its because half way through typing I got REALLY SERIOUS
