Also, stay away from Kitteridge. You are in a weird dead zone on campus, not near a Buff Bus stop, the food sucks and its hard to get to the main part of campus. Sewall is overrated as well, people get caught up in the cool architecture but its away from the other dorms and in kind of a weird part of campus as well. Cheyanne Arapaho or Hallet are the best dorms IMO. They are right on Ferrand Field, have more of a park setting than Baker or Libby and are more low key than Farrand. Baker always ends up being a shitshow party dorm for some reason. Will Vill kind of sucks but most of the people that end up out there make some really close friends and its kind of its own community. Its actually a chill area with its own rec center and the Buff Bus stop right out front makes it closer to campus than it seems. There is an apartment pool across the street you can poach in the summer too.
You chose well with the GAP year btw. CU had to deal with some total bullshit due to COVID, to the point it basically ruins the college experience.
I graduated in 2010 so DM me if you need any more tips, info etc.
