Looking for a new ski suggestion

Looking for a new ski and binding selection. I’ve been pretty out of the loop the past few years in terms of ski gear. I’ve been riding Al dentes for the past ~10 years. First pair was 168 and current is 178. I’m an advanced skier located in the north east (PA) but split my skiing up 50% out west (Colorado, Utah) and 50% back home. I Ski majority freestyle/free ride, trees, and like hitting jumps and drops. Will ski park a little bit when on east coast if conditions are very poor.

there’s so many brands, on3p, armada, line, surface, 4frnt, rmu, vishnu, etc so im pretty stumped here.

Will I benefit from a skinnier ski? Im feeling that for tight turns and maneuverability I might benefit (less effort to get up on edge)

Will I benefit from a stiffer ski? I’ve always been used to a super soft ski so can’t recall the last time I’ve ridden something super stiff.

In terms of bindings, I’ve been riding the look pivot 14’s here. They seem pretty heavy, would I benefit from a lighter binding?

Thanks!

Seem to be a playful and flexible ski, I wish I could demo them locally! On3p seem to be great quality too.

Mango 100 would be great

Vishnu wide if you want something a little more playful

Definitely.

also, all joking aside, the new jets might work as well

Never heard of. Can you link the site. A google search of “jet skis” comes up with wave runners hahaha.

They're super limited; you're definitely not gonna be able to demo them unfortunately. Looks like your size is sold out too. Hopefully they make more of that model

https://blisterreview.com/winter-buyers-guide

Read that for research. That's last year's guide, they charge for this year's guide so that excludes me. Blister used to be better, there's a lot of trail running shit on there now and dudes that just want skis to be heavier to ski chop better...but there's still some useful information.

If you're deciding between skis and like science check outhttps://soothski.com/

Second the blister recommendation. If you find a ski (or a few) that you're interested in definitely look to see if blister has done a review specifically on the ski(s), they typically give you a good idea of how the ski rides if you don't have a chance to actually ride them before you end up buying.

I ski 7 springs. They do have demo days, it sucks they charge $50/demo (comes off of total IF you buy skis) though they only had the majors. Line, armada, k2, etc.

Where do you ski? I don't know anything about skiing in PA.

This place did a demo day at Blue Mountain but it was 4 years ago...I'm sure some shop does a spring demo day at one of the resorts in the area it might take some doing, internet research, email or phone to different shops or resorts.

Do they give you lunch? I think it's totally worth it. Go get on as many skis as you can and take notes. You can chat with the reps and get more focused on what attributes you value in a ski. Buy skis in April/May/June end of season sales.

I was looking around and can't find any info on this.

In any case, even with just Armada, K2, and Line I bet there are 10-12 skis worth a go?

Are J Skis still popular? Are they comparable to the other known brands

Definitely still somewhat popular. Mostly by a small group of dedicated user's. Haven’t ever gotten a chance to try them myself but I’ve heard good things.

I see them everywhere in co
