Looking at Line chronic

Might be buying a pair of 08/09 chronics, have some questions:

Will the ski be too stiff for me?

I'm 5'9 (175 cm) and 132 lbs. Have been skiing on a pair of Rossi Scratch ghettos 169 (07/08) for the last two seasons. Not sure if I liked the stiffness of the skis, since its the only pair of skis i've owned. But I didn't have any problems with washing out and stuff like that, but I'm struggling with presses and butters, but i think that it's because of my lack of skills. So I guess I liked the stiffnes of the ghettos.

Think I ski like 95 % park and 5 % pow. Usually hit 20-40 footers, but will step it up next season.

And feel free to come with other opinions and experiences about the skis, you can also suggest other skis.

 
chronics arent gonna be any softer than your rossi skis, so if you didn't like the "stiffness" of ghettos then you won't really notice any difference other than a stiffer flex. don't get me wrong, chronics are a sick ride and will eat up anything you throw at them... but you would need to be alot heavier to butter them nicely. if you like line skis and i'd take a look at some anthems... soft but very stable skis, sick for park.
 
Could someone describe how it is to ride a stiff ski that you can't butter with? kinda stupid question.. but need to know

 
Not really sure what you are asking, but I have 08 chronics and I can

get up on the tips and spin around a bit, but only because I had

invaders before them. And you already answered your question. You

said you can't butter your ghettos, and they are a stiff ski. So you

know how it is to ride a stiff ski that you can't butter. And to ^^your

post above, the anthems are not big. They are lighter than the chronic. And they come in your size.
 
you can butter anything.

maybe you have super soft boots?

or maybe you need to hit the gym.

seriously. the ladies will love it. spend the rest of the summer gaining weight.
 
couple options for ya....
atomic punx and armada ar6, both are moderate flex profile so it will be easier to butter them but super stable and light
 
From everything I have read in this thread, I don't think you should buy Chronics. If you want LINEs get some Anthems.. better flex for your weight and they're not big or heavy.
 
ok, thx for the answers everyone. and by big i kinda meant wide. and anthems are heavier than chronics according to lines homepage. Will consider the anthem, but not into this years or next years graphics at all. but i think afterbangs, is what i'm going to get for next season. but need to wait and see what people thinks about them
