Look stop makin the heel pivot?

The pivot became the Axial. I don't know a lot about it, but it is supposed to be better and greater technology. I know the front toe piece on the Axial can move 180º left to right which means it is safer for forward twisting falls..

ok, anonlax. here it is. look and rossignol have an agreement to share all their binding technology. this means look and rossi bindings are the same. look hasnt stopped making the pivot heel piece, they are working on refining it, and making it stronger.

all true, except that Look uses Rossi's technology, and not the opposite. just clearin that point out... the new Axial2 in def a strong and solid binding, and even if the pivot heel ("turntables") were reall popular, the release system on the new bindings are much safer.

the pivoting heel never really did much and it made the bindings more succeptable to breaking. in a downward twisting fall what matters is how much the bindings move up and down. especially in the front. also how much you can twist your leg in the front prevents injury. the new look is gonna be much more solid, a little lighter, and just as safe. i prefer axials though from personal experience and similar friend's experiences

the old axial heelpiece is the only binding i trust. I dont understand why they fucked with a good thing.

do you have any basis for this??

the new binding is more safe, while keeping all the good qualities of the old one. it keeps you in just as well, but is more safe when it does release.

i heard the new heel piece is way better. it puts more downward pressure on the heel and prevents the unwanted realeases

the turntable design had a certain angle at which it would not release unless 2500 neutons of pressure is applied which is about a 25 din or something, the new design is much safer and even though the turntable is gone it is actualy better in certain twisting and the energy transfer from boot to binding to ski has been increased, they took something great and made it better, give the new design a try im sure youll love it

the pivot heel was look's technology, not rossi's. look had used a pivot heel for years before rossi even made bindings. the new binding still allows your leg to pivot along the tibial axis, just like the old ones did, it just doesnt need to have the whole heel pivot to do it. the toe peice is the same as the old ones except for a new plastic housing to match the look of the new heel. pivot did not turn into axial, pivot is what look called it, axial is what rossi called it. its now a look px or rossi axial2. my only complain with the new binding is the longer mounting length than the old pivots, other than that, its a more solid binding than the previous generation.

To get this straight: Rossi bought look when they entered the binding market. And personally, I feel i came out a lot better in the old heelpiece.
