Look PX 12 vs. Marker Squire

Ok, so i know there are probably a ton of threads asking which bindings to get, but i couldn't find one specifically asking this question. Alright, my skis i have now are pretty much on their last legs so i'm in the market for new skis. I have already decided that i'm either getting k2 domains or armada thalls. Both bindings seem like really good bindings, but i just don't know which one will suit my riding better. I would say that i'm an intermediate park skiier. I weigh about 140 pounds and i am about 5'9". I usually mostly hit rails and other jibs, but i also do jumps that are about 20-40 feet.

Thanks to anyone that helps!

Sorry for double post, can't figure out how to edit my original post. Anyways, forgot to add this in. I was also thinking of the Marker Griffon.

I would stay away from the squire, they are made for smaller, lighter skiers, and will break more easily

fks/pivots are highly regarded around here

salomon makes some quality binders, too

i have marker squires. i like them and have not had any problems with them. i am on them for the third year. i am 5' 9" 135. If i had to do it over i would either get the squires or the px12's. they are good bindings and will also last you a few years from what it sounds like. hope this helped. also, FKS pivots are a great binding if you are willing to throw down a little bit more. well worth it

I work in a shop. Marker bindings suck. Plain and simple.I've already done 3 warrenty returns just this year on bindings that we have sold.

Get with px 12 or a tyrolia/deadbolt binding. Marker is just not built to last

px12 is a very good binding !

i ride marker jesters, sth 16drivers but my oldest still performing binding is a px12, it's just bombproof !

Griffons 2013 Broken heel piece that holds up the binding in the back after the customer landed the wrong way and broke right out.

Baron 2010 pivot screw in the heel piece for the locking part failed. Thus causing the biding to fail forward lean pressure during the test.

Griffon 2012 heel piece failed spring began to wear out and thus caused it to fail the forward lean pressure.

some of the most overlooked bindings. loved my 4frnt deadbolts. so durable. really high quality. obviously fks/pivots are as well but if i had to choose from something other than a pivot binder, i would choose my deadbolts every time

I had px12's and within half a season of owning/riding them, the brake mechanisms broke and both of the bindings blew out of my skis... gotta say, I had a veerrryyy different experience with them than you say you have

I don't mind my PX12's. But they don't hold up so well for landing switch, well crashing switch rather. I'm hoping to switch to salomon STH's

experiences differ greatly, i'm also a huge fan of marker bindings, especially jesters while many of the kids on here detest them ....

anyways, a brake failure can be because of wrong size or bending and did the binding rip out of your ski ? cause usually that's not due to a binding failure but rather a mounting or ski failure, ie. moisture in your core = rip out
