Need info on size and ability. You said your putting on FR so a your skiing in the park.

Second, Pivots are FKS rebranded. exactly the same binding.

oh ya sorry 5'10" 170 park fairly aggressive DIN preference 8 in toe 8.5 heel. and ya i figured they were the same rossi owns look so thanks man +K

I spent last season with that EXACT setup, look pivot 14s on my FR's. Absolutely the best binding you can throw on your filthy's, they're completely bomb proof and the swing weight is perfect imo. They're gonna be alot heavier than any sth binding because they are about mostly metal, so it takes a little getting used to. They also don't eject you all the time like the sth's do. A 90mm brake fits perfectly on the filthy rich. As far as the FKS vs Pivot debate goes, FKS 14's and Pivot 14's are essentially the same binding. (as long as were talking 1990+) The only real difference is the color, so id go with the cheapest deal you can find. Hope this help you out

Pivot 12s would do the trick just as well. But yes, very good bindings. I have two pairs and no problems whatsoever.

For a lighter guy like me (130 lbs) are the 12's still a pretty bomber binding. Looking for difference in cronstruction between the two mainly...?

I don't get why everyone says this when people say they want FKS/Pivot bindings...the Pivot 14 has a range of 5-14, your average 12 DIN binding has a range of 4-12. He's not going to be riding at 4, and it's not like because he can ride at 14 that he should....as long as the tech does his binding test right, he'll be riding at the correct DIN for his height/weight/BSL/level, so it doesn't matter that it goes up to 14...Since the 14 is the lowest version of the current FKS/Pivot models, if he wants to rock that binding, then that's his best choice. You want him to put Squires on a $600 ski? That seems like a terrible idea...he want's a durable binding that will last as long (if not longer than) his durable ski...pivot/fks bindings have a reputation for being durable, the lowest DIN range they come in is 5-14, therefore, yes, he wants a 14 DIN binding.

OP, the pivot is an awesome binding to put on that ski, it's what I have on mine (I have the FKS version), and it's (personally) 1 of 2 binding types I trust to click into. The answer to FKS or Pivot is basically orange or silver, cause that's the only difference (unless you can find one cheaper than the other).

this is exactly right. i want a durable binding and after a season of new px 12s they were terrible i had many many brakes break in which one almost put my ski through a lodge window and finally the baseplate broke so i want a burlier binding and saw the pivots were mostly metal and who knows i may be needing more DIN but thanks^ for the help +K

Wont know unless you ask.

I'm pretty sure look bindings have a One year warranty to begin with. So you should get a full refund/ new binding as long as it has not been one year for date of purchases.

I have some older Pivots from the 90s (4-12 DIN), as well as some newer 140s from last year. They both rock (and are essentially identical..imagine that).

Go for it, and find the cheapest deal you can (Pivot or FKS, doesn't matter).

If you're breaking brakes often maybe pivots aren't the binding best suited for you.

this is true i have been trying to find where to get pivot or fks brakes to fit my skis and i can't find anywhere. Does anybody know where i can find them or anyone have em that are 90s

(quoting this to further explain)

Most people break brakes (especially on PX series bindings) due to a toe heavy switch landing, this puts leverage on the brake arms in a way they are not intended to go. The reason for the breakage is there is 1 single screw that holds that brake on to the binding, this normally will be fine during a standard ejection, however on the switch toe heavy landing, the brake arm is bent backwards at force which either breaks the plastic or rips/shears the screw. The difference in the turntable heel is that the brake mount is under the heel piece, therefore in order to rip it out, the entire heel would have to come out...which if you crash hard enough for that to happen, it would have happened on any binding. So instead of 1 screw holding that brake in there's 4 that hold it in, plus, the plate that holds it in under the binding (so even if you do rip the binding out, the brake doesn't necessarily come out, so you can get them remounted). The downside to this is very clear, if you do happen to break the brake arm (the new versions of the FKS/Pivot have a better brake arm than the old ones) you'll have to dismount the heel piece, then replace the part, then remount the heel piece. If you have a good enough shop, this usually isn't an issue, but it can be hard to get the piece from Rossi, so the easiest way to get this is to deal with a shop directly, instead of the easy fix of other brake replacements. However, it is much less likely to happen with FKS bindings, I used to ride PX series, Peak/Deadbolt series, and Royal Family series bindings....broke brakes on all of them, I have not broken a single brake on my FKS bindings since I started using them a few years ago.

this is exactly what was happening to me i landed switch many times not even wrecking and landing with one ski and going to click into it and finding the brake had broke and this happened many atimes
