Look Pivot 14's or Marker Griffon's

I'm looking at getting a pair of Armada JJ's and wondering what bindings I should mount on them. Looking at either the Look Pivot 14 XXL or the Marker Griffons.

Has anyone used both of these bindings and can give a comparison?

I have the Marker Squire's on my park ski's which are fine but looking for something a bit beefier for the JJ's.

Height, weight and skiing ability before we can help

Usually I would agree but the cy that he rides squires fine give us a lot of info. He is either not a big guy or not a very aggressive skier. Griffons coul be fine and fks may infact be a bit much at least the 140. Pretty much any 12-14 din binding should work if was using squires.

Yeah didn't word that very well. I'm 6'2 roughly 180 lbs and my park ski dins are set at 9 which probably isn't the best on the squire's but they do the job, I was short on funds at the time and got the squire's cheap. However I'll probably set my dins to 10 on the JJ's as I'll be skiing more aggressively.

Did you have any issue with the squires if not you should be fine on any 12-13 din binding. Squires are pretty basic so really anything you look at will be an improvement. See what you can find a deal on. Look for attack 13's they are great for te money.

I'm based in the UK and found a deal from a German supplier that offers free delivery to the UK and they are offering a package deal of £440 for the JJ's and marker griffons or £460 for the Pivots instead, just trying to determine if it's worth the extra £20 for the pivots. Are either of them better swing weight wise or that?

That is not tht good a deal. Why are you not looking to buy in the uk? I just had a look on brighams site and you can get ak jj with sth2 13 for 470quid. I think maybe look aroun a little more and you can probably find some better deals. Remember too it will be much easier to do warranties if you buy from a local shop.

Not looking at the Ak, going to get the 185, the AK is too much ski in my opinion. I suppose you're right in a sense though. seen a few places in the UK with similar deals just a bit more expensive and not with Pivots, probably right though, would be safer getting them in the UK and would be fine with Griffons. Cheers for your help dude.

Oh I agree about the ak I was just pointing out you could get a more expensive ski for the same price in the uk. Binding wise griffons, attacks and sth are all great an you shoul be able to find deals on them at this time of year.

I'd avoid the Pivot's. They're a good binding but they have problems such as the brakes being a pain in the ass to replace and they're really expensive. Also they can be very annoying to get on in powder because of the heel, the Griffon's would be much easier to get into on a steep face in powder.
