Look or marker?

I'm going to buy some Armada T-hall skis. And of course I need some bindings. At my shop, they have look and marker. What do you think I should choose, and which model, maybe?

I'm

*light, 41 kg (90 lbs.)

*skiing a little bit aggresively. i do up to 5's and railing and stuff. but i think (and hope) i will get better this season.

I want

*light bindings, because of my light weight

*bindings that will hold up

*generally solid bindings. but not overkill.

looks will be maybe a tiny bit heavier, but would have advantages in every other aspect. get the looks, you wont regret it!

thats like asing whether you want candy or a pile of shit for dinner. Go with the looks

But which looks?

I remember, last years PX12 was heavy and shitty! Many of my friends had them, and HATED them! I have also seen much shit about it here on NS.

There was shit on NS about the PX12 because they changed the heel piece to a fixed heel rather than the old pivot heel, but the general consensus is that the Looks are WAY better than anything Marker makes, except for the new Duke and Jester maybe...

Marker's new bindings look promising (Dukes, Jesters), but I have heard that they are heavier (the Dukes at least). The Jesters DIN goes from 6-16 I believe, and if you only weigh 40+kg, I think starting a 6 is kinda high.

The Looks, on the other hand, have been popular in the past. PX12 goes from 3-12, which might be more ideal for someone light like you. If you can find some P10's, they'd probably be good (if you like the turntable heel piece).

I also suggest having a look at some Salomon bindings. You're light, but agressive (as you say). The Z10 could be good for you as it's lightweight, but people have had problems in the past. Salomon have released the STH 12, which is a more durable but still really light (around 5 lbs. STH = Steel "something" Housing. tech maybe the word.) The Z10 goes from 3-10, STH12 from 4-10.

PX12 Jib Pivot Heel? I thought the PX design didn't have the pivot heel, it was the P-series (ie P10, P12)

did u just make up a new binding? becuase there are no pivtoing px series looks. But go with the look bidnings

Go with looks, they fit exactly with what ur doin and they are light, i got myself a pair of px 12 jibs and they are awesome and light.

This looks like a difficult choice. Do you think I should go for the Salomon STH 12 if I can get that shit?

But I don't think this years PX12 is ugly, I think it's sick! The only cons is the dildo and maybe the weight. But is the titanium or the original PX12 lightest?

The STH 12 is definately going to be lighter so if you do care alot about having a light binding go with those. I dont think the px12s are that heavy but the salomons are deinately lighter.

I'll chech if the shop can get salomons. If not, I'm pretty sure I'll go with the PX12, sick design also.

Any more thoughts?

looks have always been heavy. the px12 is actually lighter than the p12. Salomon's are light, but the 10 and 12 din models have been known to break by people who are heavy (greater than 175 lbs). Get the look px's. I ride those and have had no problems with them.

Honestly, upper end consumer bindings (other than than markers) do not make that much of a difference because for 98% of the time, they function well for everyone.

Downside of PXs is obvioulsy that they dont have the pivot heel like the older P series - but, as far as i know, they have the most elastic travel out there in a consumer binding (~40mm or something) so definitely a plus..

looks at store, but get solomon bindings if u can--they're much lighter and will fit everything else u need

I think the shop can get salomons for me if I want. But now I think the new PX12 looked nice too!

So which binding would you recommend then?

*Look PX12

or

*Salomon STH 12

I really wanna see some real pictures of the STH12. I don't like the pictures on the salomon site. It looks camo-coloured etc. but people says that they aren't.

Please! Maybe going to order them tomorrow.

STH12 og PX12 Jib? And I really want to see some real, realistic pictures of the STH12.

But which are more expensive?

And why do all buy the PX 12 if they are so heavy?

I don't know if I like the design on the STH's very much, but if it is so much lighter and still a killer binding, well... maybe. But the shop have to order it.

I've heard the STH12 is way more expensive, so I think I'll go with the Look PX12 Jib. Looks sick.

I think the PX12's are expensive enough.
