Look how far this site has come

I've been using this website since i was twelve years old, and in a month or so i'll be 22. I just logged on and realized how amazing this site has become in it's 10+ year existence. It's brought me my favorite past time and i guess some subsidiary activities like video editing and writing, two unforgettable trips to IF3, and i've made friends from all over the continent in doing so. But what inspired me to make a thread was just thinking back to what the site was like 10 years ago and to what it offers now is just incredible. So thanks again to everyone who's involved in making mine and everyone else's ski lives great. Here's to 10 years of NS, and hopefully 10 more!

wah wah wah. you cant deny that the content and layout of the site has increased. the site's just so easy and nice to use. are there lots of retarded people and threads on here? yeah, its the internet. but the actual site kills it

i like to think of it as constantly evolving. I think part of NS going downhill is the older we get, the more serious we wish the forum was and notice that more. you are right, trash is up but so is the amount of threads, proportionately it could be the same. however, NS is still home to the most informed consumers in the industry.

LM was never really a used for it's intended purpose and I think all of it's members know that it is where you look for more serious advice. I don't go in there much.

it's an interesting related change...

as the quality of the actual site content goes up, the quality of the forum content goes down. I think it's because back in the day, we had to actually post about something going on, simply because NS wasn't big enough to have their own people find all this stuff for us. These days NS seems to be well organized, and is obviously bigger, so they're able to beat us to most news or events.

one of those slow clap moments... I've always wanted to start a slow clap... the internet just isn't the same though.

I've only been on this site for a year but in that year NSG has turned into a shit-hole.

Regardless, thank you NS for giving me something to do when I'm not skiing, and helping me keep up on my daily dose of skiing.

exactly... there was a time once... but i don't remember. i think it was when there wasn't a nsg and there was only one forum... so it doesn't count. nsg is where you go when you're really bored and porn just isn't doing it anymore. at least, for me that's the case.

These are the threads that I would much rather see than "my 4000th post" meanwhile all of those posts are just useless post whoring garbage. NS experience is about time on the site, not about time spent writing in a box.
