Longer skis

longer skis are becoming more “in” I’m 5’2”, would 177 wets be too long. For reference I ride 155s and they come to about eye level, thoughts?

but for real 177cm is too long, you'll find them hard to maneuver. I'd look elsewhere for a ski in a smaller size, something like 163cm

That’s what I would rather have but like what else is there that’s super buttery. I’m looking at Chronics but I have horrible experiences with Line and their quality. Please give me ideas

164 Bdogs or Dollos could be sick. Quality wise Armada is still pretty good, nice beefy 2.5 edges and solid cores. Bdogs are really buttery and fun

what's op's skier ability/type? personally would go with around 170-172

I’ve been skiing since I was 2 or 3 and I started park skiing last year. I can hit most rails and do rotations like 360s and 2s off but I’m still quite a beginner park skier

also, Park skiing is dying. Take your ability to launch rotations to the rest of the mountain my queen

I think they probably would be too long. I'm 5'2 also and the only skis I ride that long are powder skis (I've got some 177 v-werks katanas), but I wouldn't want to ride that length in the park. 170 is the longest I'll ride in the park. It's really too bad rossignol stopped making the Slat, because that ski is an awesome buttery park ski and it came in a 168. I am dreading the day mine break. I don't know if the new line blends are as noodley as the old ones but those came in a 170 and would be a decent pick.

We need a brand like Vishnu that makes shorter skis for us shorties lmao

We do! I looked into Vishnus as well cause I thought they would be an awesome spring slush ski, but I ultimately decided 177 was too long to play in the park with.

You are 157.5 cm tall. 177 would be perfect for a heli trip to Valdez.

Skis with a lot of rocker feel short, so on3p would probably work ok for you in park at about 165-170 but spin a little slow. Chronics have less rocker, so maybe 160 ish.

But you could make any of them work. Longer will mach better, shorter spin. Weight and strength also affect it. Girls tend to have a better power to weight ratio believe it or not. And if you're 250 lbs you may need the 177s.

I personally think your 155s are about right.

Okay thank youuuu! My 155s are good for me right now bc I ski on a tiny hill in the Midwest but I’m heading to utah or colorado soon so I’m looking for an upgrade

In the west you'll want a little more float. Maybe a little longer and fatter. Multiple pair of skis helps. Rocker helps with float, it'll plane up on stuff. Buying skis is fun, have fun.

Lines quality is only shit on there cheaper skis. Chronics are not much more "buttery" then badges though. Could look at keys

In full honestly yes they will be pretty fucking oversized but i mean some short mfs rock long ass skis

Split the difference and go for a a 163-166 no need to rock skis that big. Might as well enjoy skiing and not have to lug around a stick way bigger than you.

Im 6’2” 170lbs, 172cm park, 188 backcountry, 178 all mountain. Lol I own 1.076m of skis.

I chose short skis in park to reduce weight. Spinning is easy on short skis. Landings are expected to be a death metal solo impression on big jumps.

Longer skis in pow is necessary for better floatation. They feel snappier in the deep stuff, best I found was 188cm and 99mm underfoot for my size.

your choice in park ski length is kind of fucked up man, i’m 5’6 and never would go shorter than 170

My park skis are wider than your pow skis

I’m 5’11 exact and I ride(for the 10th time it seems) 191 reckoner 122s. Still getting the hang of em in the moguls, but I wanted to go fast, but still have a playful ski, so going longer helped with stability. They’re pre sick. Just a lil heavy. It’s a great feeling though having longer skis than some people who are taller than me. A lot of rocker though. Tryna get switch down and nose butters with em. Anyways, just full send the length and you should be fine. Seen some where the skis are a foot taller than em. You got it!

bruh fr just be taller its legit not that hard smh

I always go a size up from my height, at least.

But it really depends on what you want to do. I've definitely become more into freeriding than park shit, and if you want to focus on spinnyflippydoos, then shorter might suit your needs better

Im 5'4" and ride 170s. :)

Itd probably be easier to learn rails and spins on shorter skis but i dont wanna comprimise my stability at higher speeds and would rather a ski that can stomp a big landing confidently rather than be agile and manueverable on rails...

Its also weird cuz i lined up my 170 armada ARWs right next to my friend's 184 armada edollos and we were both weirded out with how similar they looked in length haha. We were gonna try each others skis out for shits n gigs but his boots are a lot bigger obviously.

Depends on what u wanna ride tho ! Like sometimes 170s feel a bit too long when i need to turn in a tight spot

I'm feeling you there on that tight spot situation. Its like driving a truck in the city.?

I have 176s and I'm 5'3" i also have a pair of 161 but I feel like I'm going over the handlebars on those. But these two are heavily rockered ON3Ps. I do find it slow to spin on the 176 but I love that stability for when I want to rip.

I have been investigating lighter options for those days when I want to be quicker and spinny and to learn rails in my small Midwest ski areas.

I ride dead center 180's man you're honestly risking injury with skis that short

you really need to stop caring about what other people choose to use, shit on pro skiers whatever but some casual 20-30 year old skiing park for fun who fucking cares dude? lighten up.

Meh, would've been funnier if it wasn't a completely unoriginal joke.

slightly more original than outright calling you fat like everyone else
