LONGER skis please

So, last season and the season previous I used 161 1080 vinnies. They were wonderfully fun but got way to flimsy for me seeing I was 5'10..I know..Anyways, I was reluctant to move all the way up to 179's this year, but because of healthy incouragment I picked up my brand new fujatives. Now after a long looong summer tonight was my first night using them and that is a pretty big jump in size... I had the best time, i can not stress more to go bigger in size it is so awsome, you have so much moe controll, speed, area to land. Awsome, so if you are skeptical about going bigger, do iiit

ive got 165 tm's from last year.. they are getting a bit small as i am 5'5 about. however ive got some skogens in a 176 and i love the length. get them big for sure.

Logic is working to stock up on premade hats so our store is closed for now. If you have a suggestion don't hesitate to e-mail me.

i went from 169 to 179 (5,11) and i thouroughly enjoy the length

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
its ski season
im 6'2 and i have 180s and 185s. i like my leingth. but i did almost buy a pair of 165 tm's the other day for 235, brand new in the wraper.
'what?' Lauren every time you ask her a question for the first time!
skiing what i thought this was a porn site and every one i was talking to were sexy ppl ..i thought skiing was a sex term we all uesed. damn!-twintiprider
long skis are awesome. should be at least an inch taller than you. that's being hypocritical, cuz im 6'2 and i have Karma 185s, but im tall so it's different. and anyway, they are still the same height as me. long skis have steeeeeeeeeeeze.
'this is just like sex, only im having it!'
the size of your skis is what ever is practical. im 6' and i like mine around 185 just because they are quick enough through the tight trees but are still somewhat stable at high speed but if its big open lines i go for anything over 190
Love the long skis... I'm 6 feet and I ride 193's... As the other guy said, they are great for straight lining and wide open areas.. but for tight stuff, I'd much rather use my new 181 Tweaks... so much easier... just gotta sacrifice some stability when straight lining.
well i'm 6'3 and i have mike nicks 171 kinda short but how are the longer skis for spinning cuz i was thinking about getting some 180s next year
---------------
Is it something i said so fuck you to.
last year i had 164's and now i have 181's and as far as just popping a 180 in a run, i don't notice a difference in spinning/weight/length. but i can't vouche for anything over a 180
Let us have a revolution
even though u have more weight to throw around, if u have ur skis centermounted (like my 179 fujas) ull notice its much more balanced, not to mention how much better long skis look in the air. With bigger skis, landing is also so much more simple
going faster regular and switch is easier, too.
Oh yah FYI buttering with madtrix is where the future of this sport is going
Let us have a revolution
Yeah, longer skis are so much better. I jumped from 164 to 180 this year (I'm 6'3') and the difference was great. Awsome for jumps and landing switch.
oh yeah? well me and my friends have been bathing off the southern coast of st. bards, chilling with spider monkeys. tripping on acid gave us a whole new perspective on shit.
dude as long as there about an inch or so above or below your height or anywhere inbetween then you're good
and more, much more than this, I did it my way
'So you're a skier?'
'No, I prefer to refer to myself as a double boarder'
you're good at whatever you want
I've never heard of anyone complain about having skis too long
but i've never heard of people complaining about skis being too short, just that once they've gotten longer skis they like it better
Let us have a revolution
people focus to much on the length of their ski. It all depends on what you are trying to ski. Powder skis tend to be longer. If your from the east or midwest then chances are you want a shorter ski because you will not need a longer ski to support the speed. If you prefer longer then get longer skis, but remember its easier to control a shorter ski, expesially if you are not as good of a skier.
Take for instance i am 6' and i use a 157cm for a slalom ski, 171 park ski, and a 176 all mountain ski. When im out west i like a 180+ ski for the park and a 185+ for powder
i have 182s and im 6'2'
theyre pretty sweet but theyre line 1260s and are mounted like 4 cm in front of the reccomended spot so im finding then to have less control than my shorter skis so far (although it was all man made snow last nite, and ive only ridden then once so far)
i ski nothing but east coast and i still hate short skis. why would u want to sacrifice stability?
well, longer isnt necessarily more stable. a 160 stiff ass race ski will be a hell of alot more stable than a soft twintip even if its 180cm at high speeds
My friend is 5'9 and wont go higer than 165, he thinks long skis are gay and you can't do anything in them. He can do 540's on the ground though.
i should have gotten the chronics in a 177, not a 167. i was afraid taht the skis would be hard ot throw around though
binding destruction count: 3 so far this season, one pair of lines and two pairs of rossis: what will be next?
i'm only 5'7 and ski a 170, and planned on getting the PE in a 169 but everyone saying i'll ski better on the 159's...i'm kinda reluctant to get such a short ski. at my height, is 170 about right?
~Crock
Ski like you fuck; fast and hard with a stupid grin on your face.
Im 6'0' and i ski Skogens....i like them, i want to ski the t-hall, i could see myself rocking those baby's....
Ride the Skogan, it is dope!
crock, im 5' 8' and im 171 1080s, they fit pretty well, and are about as tall as i am. I was thinking of moving up to a 179 pistol since im a very strong skier, even though im in the middle of ny. Its really all about how strong of a skier you are and what type of skiing you want to do. If youre park only and cant ski for shit, then stay short, youll have an easier time. If you like ripping outside of the park and skiing fast (i consider fast going over 50mph) then get something bigger, or you could be in for a nasty surprise... like a ragdoll
what size should I go for? Im around 5'1'-5'2' ,I weigh 115-120, I can do 360s and 540s, I ski about 50% park, 30% groomers and ice(east coast), and 20% trees. What size should I go for?
ITS MORE OF HOW MUCH YOU WEIGH, RATHER THAN HOW TALL YOU ARE, I'M 6'1 AND ABOUT 145 lbs, and i ski 172s
Dale is my buddy
well if its weight that you measure, then i'm 145, 5'7, and ride 174 (Note, i'm not fat, but i'm not a skinny snowboarder kid, i weigh alot because i'm a football player so i lift everyday)
