Longboarding.

The Rayne Vendetta is a high quality board from a legit company. Also look at the Sayshun Crisis. You've probably never heard of Sayshun but they're very popular in Canada. Made in Calgary. The crisis is a super fun drop through that has enough stiffness to bomb decently quick, but it still has the springy felling you get from a standard pin tail like the wedge flex. And finally, Original sucks. They give the sport a bad name by sponsoring crappy riders that do not wear helmets. Bucket up or die!

how does sponsoring riders wgo dont use helmets make the whole company suck? have u even rode their boards or are you to original what kangbang is to fd

Do you know how big a deal it is to longboard without a helmet? And by the way the FD boys were wearing helmets when they jump the huge river gap in NZ ;)

that didnt answer my question but i wear one when i longboard but its choice skaters dont get shit about it when they do a 20 set without one, it shouldnt matter and its the riders choice

Boards are like skis, different ones do different things, originals and loaded's are great for cruising but I really like never summer's boards and have had a great time riding a Revolt with kick tails.
That said, my recommendation is that you should get 86a wheels. There is no point to getting a soft wheel, they last half as long and wheels are expensive. If you're worried about sliding out with a harder wheel, get a downhill wheel like the O-tang Inheat's. You can get em in an 86a and they have sharp edges for the ultimate grip at what speeds you go.

ive had original trucks and i hate them. you're either going straight, or turning extremely hard, its hard to get the middle ground without getting sketchy.

you have a vendetta! whats the flex like? i want something poppy and fun for cruising . i had a pretty decent bamboo deck until it got stress cracks and i slammed it into a bridge. i want something kinda like my old deck which was really responsive. is it stiff and less responsive like a dh board or is it more of a freeride/ cruise board

i guess i misunderstood what you're looking for in a board. having spend considerable time on both the loadeds and bcs that you've mentioned, i'd highly recommend the bc. you'll regret spending the extra money on a loaded. trust me. i know very few kids who ride longboards seriously and don't regret buying a loaded board (at least over a cheaper deck).
also, seriously consider your wheel choice. i find that wheels and bushings are just as important as your deck, and they tend to be much less expensive. and please don't buy brotangs, they are highly overrated. my 81a dregs slide much better than my friend's 86a fat frees. their formula just sucks. the 86a chatter more than they slide, the 83a wear down to nothing in a matter of days, and the 80a are simply garbage for a number of reasons.
sorry to keep writing essays, but i spend the entire winter reading about longboarding shit and the entire spring riding as many different boards as i could, and i'm using this thread as an outlet to justify my obsessive behavior. check out muirskate.com if you haven't already. all the dudes there are super nice, and if you give them a call they'll definitely set you up on the right board.

I don't know if you've checked it out before, but go to sell/trade on silverfishlongboarding.com. Alot of longboarding gear is all about preference so if I were you I'd just buy a cheap setup and mess around with it and find the gear you like. If you know longboarders try all their boards to try and get a feel for what you like.

In my opinion stiff boards are the all around best. I have the landyachtz spud and I love it and anyone whos tried it has liked it. It's a little small though but you can get the switch if you're taller than 5'8" or so. The 925 is probably a good fit for you too. In terms of wheels, if you have the money, get Nersh Candies. They look sick, last forever, grip really well, and slide even better when you want them too.

You'll probably like any kind of setup you get though as long as its not a shitty zumiez one.

Has anybody ridden the arbor axis gt? They also come in a bamboo and koa version. It comes with Paris 180's, which is what I was going to get anyway, and super soft wheels, 78a, for carving. I stepped on it today at a skate shop and it was really nice. Perfect for what I'm doing. Which is just carving flatland, and sliding. So has anyone on NS ridden one? Or heard of it?
