Longboard

http://www.sector9.com/2006/

I personally feel that Sector 9 makes some sweet boards. Check out the COSMIC SERIES. Each length will have a description of what it is good for. Your weight will affect the board you choose. I am about 200lbs, so, I went with the 46" super cruiser which is built for larger riders. If you want something that is fun to carve, go with one of these COSMIC boards. They are both concaved and cambered for great flex feedback and carving. I have riden plenty of boards, the Cosmic boards from Sector 9 are the funnest in my oppinion. Unless you are seriously considering big downhill rides etc., the small board in the cosmic series is one of the most fun boards ever made - it's also easy to pick up an carry if you need to.

finally someone else who has shared the experience. hands down the greatest brand i have ever ridden. nothing compares to the flexes they have to offer, and with the new bamboo construction, it's pretty much game over for any other company. there are many other brands that i'm sure you would also like such as sector 9, flexdex, gravity, and landyachtz, but IMO Loaded boards are perfect

yea, loaded vanguard, sustainable stoke. its bamboo, super duper carvy. DO not buy a Sector nine. with the exception of thier high end decks, they are POS's that preppy posers ride around on. they suck. loaded, landyatchz, gravity, earthwing, insect, arbor, etc etc. and if you wanna carve, get something like Siesmics, Holeys, etc with ABEC11 wheels and Blitin bearings (the have all the spacers intergrated, super good earing, great price too). randals, eh, randals ride well, but quite honestly are Cast like crap. and also, with bushing trucks, bushing setup makes alllll the diff. in the world. caheck out silverfishlongboarding.com. its the NS of the oldschool skate world.

SUCKtor nine is more like it, i see soooo many chicks just carrying there sector nines around because they think it makes them look good, buy a loaded or a landyacht or find some underground company in your area, thats what i ride is some board this guy made in his garage, and its fucking sick.

haha, I love the parallel. Sector 9 is a big company who puts money into research and development. They also promote and sponsor events etc. and help the longboard world move along. They helped get it all started and continue to help keep it going. They would be the SALOMON, ROSSIGNAL, K2 etc. of longboarding. If you hate big companies that are responsible for getting things rolling and keeping them rolling - don't buy a Sector 9. If you only love core companies because "you are too cool for big companies who put tons of money into research and development to come up with better products" buy a different "core" board. If you only ride 9th ward, liberty, etc. - don't buy a Sector 9. If you understand that big companies are capable of making great products because of r&d etc. - buy a Sector 9. I have ridden many boards, including home made jobs. Yes home made decks are sweet and core. But, the Cosmic series and other high end boards by Sector 9 are flat out awsome and very hard to beat. I don't care if a board is core or corporate(same with my skis) I care about the end product. Either way, if its a good ride - I'll ride it and not care what others say.

And, if bamboo is your thing, Sector 9 has a sweet line of bamboo rides too.

Check out dregs boards too. the dregs alpine board is amazing. super stable at higher speeds, but great for carving. nice concave in the deck so when you carve you feel locked into the board. mines 46in and i love it. dregs makes some other sick decks too

its a skateboard. skateboarding is about soul. i refuse to get anywhere near a board that was pressed in some big ass factory by people that dont give a shit about it. there are so many companies that Give a rats ass about the sport, an put thier hearts into it. and oh yea, Sector 9 is not the brand pushing the sport. the sport is being pushed by companies like Wefunk, Kebbeck, Loaded, Landy, and indie builders (like myself). these are the people who push the sport, advance skateboard design, and are responsible for the sportbeing where it is today. skatebording is not skiing, and you cannot compare them.

i have the flex 3 and i'm about 5'10 165. perfect rebounding yet maintains the stability for the occasional over 30mph run. i have the pintail so i can't really reccomend a size for the vanguard, but i do recommend checking out www.silverfishlongboarding.com and checking out the forums. they have a lot of info there.

i have a sector 9 cosmic 2...its super sick. great for carving cause it has crazy flex. definately recommend it.

I agree, one of the most important parts of a longboard just like school food, is that little touch of love!!!!!!! Don't try and tell me that sector 9 is putting out such new concepts on their boards, they arnt that progessive.
