Longboard

Im looking for a longboard with a good amount of flex and good for slides and such. Ive been looking at Arbor, Landyachtz, and Rayne. Something hopefully under $200, or close to it.

Any input? And where is there a good place to buy online?

i know any board is slideable, but some are easier than others based on shape and height off the ground. and the "and such" up there; i dont know why i said that, i could just as easilly typed "and good for carving in general, not a race board nessecarily

Heres one of the rayne boards im looking at, the only thing is its wicked pricey

also the wheel "hardness" helps for sliding, so u can slde on almost all boards. like a wheel would be measured 68a for it's hardness

how tight should your trucks be for good slides? i just picked up a longboard for the first time a couple days ago and have been ripping it since, its such a smooth ride.

get the landyachtz lowrider it says its a DH race board but it carves so well and goes pretty fast cause it kinda on the heavy side. its sick ive never been on another board that carved and held speed as weell as that one (with randall trucks and 85mm wheels)

I dont see one named lowrider. Theres one called DH race, and theres the evo and others that are lowered like that though, which do you mean?

if your gona go sector nine you gota put cash down, cause i find the cheeper boards arnt that good. The sector nine platinum trylam is the best they have, you can carve crazy turns and it has a low weight

im gunna say it right now, i don't like sector 9, they seem like the real low end of the londboarding spectrum, its like 1080 of longboarding, like everyone has tried one, but then they stepped up and bought real skis, so yeah, there i said it

unless your gonna be hardcore sliding like everyday, don't look at a board for that, unless you wanna get a totally seperate board for sliding. yea the durometer (hardness), and shape of the wheels are the main factor in sliding, but there are boards specifically for just downhill sliding which i don't recommend unless that's all you wanna do. what is the geograpghy and topograpghy of where u live? if u have a lot of hills and just wanna bomb, look for something with very little to no flex, and a long wheelbase. i highly recommend landyachtz for this because their boards are very specialized and excel in racing and bombing. if your looking to just cruise look for pretty much anything with a wheelbase of over 50 inches (i don't know much about these kind of boards so i can't really help). for cruising and carving or a little of everything i very highly recommend the loaded pintail. i have riden about 10-12 other boards, and i am definatley most satisfied with my loaded pintail. i got the flex 3 and it's perfect for rebounding out of turns into the next carve, and it's also perfect for crusing around and transportation. i probably ride about 15-20 miles a week without a problem. there's a lot more to be added, but like someone else recommended go to www.silverfishlongboarding.com and read up. search a lot before posting because like on NS, a lot of questions have been asked already. good luck and have fun

i just got a landyachtz with randall trucks and abec 11s for $170-something. It's one of the pintail decks. i rode an arbor once and it wasn't as flexy.
