I am looking for a longboard that can hold speeds around 30mph without getting speedwobble but can still carve easily and powerslide. This will be my first board so im not really sure what type of board would be good for this.

this is one I was looking at... dont know if its good for the above things.

^they won't hold much more over 30mph though so if you are planning on doing some serious downhill over those speeds, you are starting to look at really beefy DH-specific boards.
 
both bustin strike and a dervish would be great.

i just got a landyachtz drop carve and its exactly what youre looking for. basically its for carving hills. it has some flex but ive taken it upwards of 35 with no speed wobbles whatsoever. i wouldnt go with the NS soldier though, it has absolutely zero flex whatsoever (making it more stable, but less springy).
 
Globe definatley makes some of the best long boards...

The longer board you get

The less speed wobble there is sooooo, yah

But if you get a too long board with a too smalle flex you try to powerslide the board will just snap soo

if you wqant a bigger board make sure you get less flex too

i would have to disagree with the globe statement. if your gonna spend that money and you want a sturdy bombing board that you can carve get a landyachtz big gun or bamboo..both around $180 for a complete

my friend got the 40cm fish board and looked really gay

take a look at the Landyachtz Chinook. I'm in pretty much the same situation as you and that's what I just bought a couple days ago
 
nah its a last years model and it was more round and th grahiks were like a hand drawn fish

long boarding wasnt as cool last year,

cant find it on google either

I have riden a ton of different longboards, owned a ton, seen a ton. my setup for all around right now is an apex 37 with orangatang stimulus on S8's. its a solid board, can do just about everything but bimb the biggest hills.
