Longboard begginer

So i was at a few college campuses a few weeks ago and saw many people longboarding to get from class to class. Since i will be going to college in about a year I figured that this is something that I may want to pick up seeing as I have little to do in the summer as it is. So I was wondering what would be a good longboard to start with. I would probably like to be in the sub 200 range seeing as I am just beggining, but i would be willing to go slightly higher if need be.

Thanks for any help

Note: i am looking at some and i see that they have a minimum to maximum weight. Seeing this my weight is around the 130 range and I am about 5 10 if it matters.

^The Vanguard, not so much a beginer board, but sooo fucking good.

sector 9

^The Zen (Bamboo) never ever gets speed wobble, and carves great.

most longboards are about 175. go try them out. i have the sector 9 bamboo board and its got a lot of flex which is really fun or you can get another sector9 that is stiffer. they make good boards. just go to a shop and check it out

the sector 9 bamboo boards are sick. i snag my roommate's and use it all the time. for being so flexy, they're really stable at speed and turn really easily too.

so how long of a board should I be looking at to start out with? I am completely clueless to this topic so any and everyone's help would be appreciated

^Whatever feels right. I have a stiffer Sector 9 that's great for speeding down hills, my friend has a flexier one. Whatever suits you really. The flexy is great for flat areas. So much fun to bobble up and down.
