Long lift lines

They annoy the hell out of me, I would honestly rather shred a shittier hill with no lineups than a big mountain with 20 minute lines

Vail is a ski resort in Colorado, which is owned by a big corporate called Vail Resorts. Vail Resorts also owned other resorts you might know such as Heavenly, Northstar, Kirkwood, Park City, Breckenridge, and a few more. I found that out last year when I purchased lift tickets over the phone for Heavenly and was billed through Vail Resorts. The operator said all the billing goes through them for those resorts.
 
Go to Stevens Pass, avoid all backcountry options - too dangerous out here. Checkout the Wellington slide if you don’t believe me.
 
Lines on some lifts at Alta can get pretty long some days. One time my friends and I waited like 25 minutes at the bottom of Collins on President's Day weekend. Wildcat is the best tho because there's almost always no line at all, and it has all the fun terrain, etc.
 
If you live in the east:

Sunday river is rough on weekends, also they have constant wind holds which squeeze the crowds into just a few lifts.

Okemo is the literal worst except in the late afternoon when everyone goes to the bar (Seriously who needs a 6 pack with bubbles and heated leather seats)

Sugarloaf is the best due to its constant subzero wind chills keeping the wimps away

Loon has great terrain but super crowded with massholes on weekends

I havent skied much in VT or NY
 
My dad used to tell me how long the lines were in 'their times'. One hour to wait for a one sitter. But surely i cant be the only who had the "back in my days" talk with their pa

I waited 45 mins at the jackson gore bubble last year. it gets so crowded on holidays. also gets tracked out quickly

Wow, they own all of that? That's crazy! I bet food is super cheap in the lodges though.
 
Even big resorts like Breck have pretty small lift lines if you go on a (non-holiday) weekday.

Also if you use the singles line with a group of people you’re a fucking idiot

On the east coast theres always at least a few lifts that acces good terrain they just won't be your luxurious high speed lift with a bubble. Also definitely recomend berkshire east its in western mass and ive never exeprienced a lift line there. Only downside is the park is pretty poor but the mountain is somewhat steep and nice for just ripping around.

Never really had to wait in these epic level lines I see of places put west, but I did have to wait 20ish min at a small place in WV called winterplace. Their lifts are slow and it was a pow day.

I second Okemo. People are dicks. Me and my brother were there at the front of the line of one of the base lifts on a pow day and there were two lines that converged into one. Well when they opened the lift, you'd think it would go every other side, since we aren't 6 years old anymore? Nope. Everyone from the other line kept going in front of us like they were doing the train or attached at the hip. Finally after about 20 people passed, I say fuck it and we inject ourself into the train of people and cut these two gapers off. The dude throws up his hands and says the fuck man. I hate people.

Other than that, they can get close to 10-20min at holiday valley on some weekends, but I go singles then. If I'm ever somewhere and the line is huge, me and my buddies will just ride single and fill in the gaps for those people who think the quad is their own private lift for the trio of them.
 
Sometimes I have to go up the blackcomb gondy then take the peak to peak to avoid the ridiculous whistler gondy lines. But unless its a pow day the real secret is to hike a rail until lunch time.

If I wasn't so lazy and actually was ready when I was in the village I would ahahaha, I show up without my ski boots on and like half my gear regularly and do it in the gondola.

It aint even just back in their times. Go to Mad River and you can still wait 1 hour for a single chair if it snows so much as an inch the night before.... I guess out here we just get too damn stoked sometimes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
 
Use the singles line, I really don't get how so many people don't use it. Busy Saturday at carinthia and the singles line is usually open on both sides unless it's vacation week, but it's how you get laps in.

That's the case some places and was the case everywhere. But I've ridden a bunch of places where the singles line was actually slower. I jumped in with randos in the main line and got up before I would have in the singles.

Yeah true, mostly where I ski the singles line is open and the group lines are are full.
