Long Island Vape and Ski

Out on Long Island this week and it seems there are more vape shops than anything. This got me thinking of a concept for a Vape shop that sells ski gear. Obviously this store would be limited to a select few “core” ski brands. But the shopping experience would be unmatched and a concept which has yet to be attempted. Imagine a one stop shop where you could stock up on all your vape needs and pick up a new pair of core twin-tips. I think this has the potential to dethrone online stores like backcountry and even Amazon. This could even give White Jeff Beezos a run for his money since all skiers vape and almost all vapers ski.

Please advise NS. Might get the go fund me started tonight because I will need to go to Africa first to look into distributors.

Obv a troll thread, but if not just trying to save you from wasting your money. Horrible idea that will not end well unless you just happen to be the only vape shop in vapetropolis central. It sounds like your competition is plentiful and well established. Also fda is cracking down on vaping so consider that too. What happens to the market when kids stop thinking it's the coolest thing ever? What happens when pot becomes legal? What happens when you're fined or charged because your shop sold to his underage buddies and the cops were watching? Is the market really that big in long Island for skiing, maybe? Will you be that store who is juggling too many ideas to focus solely on perfecting one first, and ends up with average or less than average ski and vape supplies? This idea may be possible in Denver or a big ski city, but it sounds bad. Unless you are the only ski shop around with stellar service and great prices, you're limiting your customer basen consider the people who won't want to associate with a vape shop. Does this shop concept cater to the largest demographic of vape users in your area? How will you raise startup costs? Will it only be a ski and vape shop or will you include other outdoor activities and hobbies? Just some food for thought .... But while I'm at it...

Will you also sell ice cream? And t shirts? And key chains? And shot glasses? And coffee mugs? And beer mugs? And kites? And boogie boards? And surf boards? And sand castle supplies?
 
I feel like you'd have a better time making that into a tshirt for a fake store, than actually making the store. Bru, I'm sponsored by long island vape n ski...

I was thinking more a vape shop that sells skis. The brick and mortar concept for a ski shop has been declining while the same concept for a vape shop has rapidly increased. This makes sense to piggyback ski retail on something that actually sells.
 
Location is super important too. In LI, it'll be tough finding that demographic of people. But imagine shop out west near a big resort? = Profit $$$$$$

Since few people on this message board have any vision I pitched this idea to theofficialsharktank.com and Marc Quban thinks it has the potential to takeoff but has proposed an idea before we make a deal. He doesn’t think we will be able to sell any ski gear due to the tight margins but likes the name so much he doesn’t want to change that. He has proposed we do a vape shop that doesn’t sell ski gear and also cuts hair. (FUBU guy and Mr. Wonderful we’re out for obvious reasons)

We are going to move forward and call this venture “Long Island Vape and Ski and Cuts”

Very savvy business moves, brother. I think Marcus Cuban is wrong about ski profit margins though, true, margins are weak on hard goods but soft goods are $$$. You should try to incorporate a thrift shop that specializes in track pants. Long Island Vape and Ski and Cuts and Threads. Guaranteed you'll be a millionaire.

You would even get to meet the Cuban, we’re meeting at Dave and Busters this week to discuss this over some calamari and a few cold daddy’s.

Any updates on this? Kicking myself for not seeing this two years ago and investing in the beginning.
 
Long Island transplant here... there isnt a market for ski shops here. just look at local craigslist or Playitagains, there is barely any used equipment posted
 
Maybe I'm out of the loop but wouldn't you be vastly more successful selling snowboards, vapes and parts for mid 2000s audis?

UPDATE-

My episode of Shark Tank never aired because I got wrapped up in a “relationship” with Barbara. I partnered with Revision skis to be a premier retailer at the same time Cuomo and the state of NY outlawed flavored vape pods. Due to the poor timing of my partnerships and legislative action I was unable to pay the lease on my storefront next to a Baskin Robins/ Dunkin store. The greedy Polock landlord filed a civil suit against me personally because I broke the lease and was “operating without a business license” (different story). Anyways I had to get out of town so I holed up in South Florida for a few months where I ran jet ski “tours” from Cuba to Miami. I was able to make a small fortune doing this and had aspirations of returning to Long Island to fulfill my lifelong-two year dream. I needed to turn my small fortune into something bigger if I ever wanted to do this. So I invested everything in the parent company of Olive Garden ahead of their 2020 spring menu release because I love meatballs and I love family. This was late February when I went all in. We all know what happens in March 2020. By the beginning of April I had lost everything on Wall Street and needed to sell my shares at a major loss to make the payment on my 12 jet skis to keep the business alive. I couldn’t cover but one day I showed up and all of my jet skis with full insurance coverage were torched. I got a fat insurance check and walked. I decided to lay low for a while, got a job tending bar at Olive Garden in a suburb of Miami. Geico is currently investigating me on the jetski claim/ payout but don’t have shit.

Anyways, I am waiting for things to settle down before heading back North and starting a go-fund me to startup “Mid-Atlantic Root Pharmaceuticals and Ski”

TLDR: I post every 2 years. Read it.
