sounds so sick, my friends who were there said everyone kept pushing it further and further until eventually russ got a 99! curious as to how elias came 8th despite having the 6th best score...?!

so bummed to have missed this! actually wait, i was sessioning the most perfect jump i've ever hit on the glacier in les deux alpes all weekend, not that bummed after all!

Glad to hear it went down in the end! I was there flyering until 3:30 when the jump was still under construction and the comp looking pretty doubtful! wander what the pros thought of our dendex!?

Stoked to see him placing up there already. I skied with him up at momentum in the summer.

Super stoked to see Vanular up there in the top 8. Comeback time.

Henrik and dumont didnt compete today....

competition looked like it was going to be a wash out with half the run in washed away by rain. 2 hours later they got some snow flex up and everyone was warming up.

so sick to see vanular throwing down again. nose butterish cork 9 blunt tail. solid performance from him the whole day. scoring was kinda random at times. some one threw a dub 12 that wasnt actually that bad and got scored like a 71 or even high 60's. but the final was absolutely intense. everyone was throwing down. henshaw got a 97 on his 1st attempt with his dub 10 double grab then the next run bobby brown stepped up to 98 with his mute poe dub 12 and the last run of the whole thing henshaw got a dub 12 with the same grab stomped and got 99. everyone was going mad. towards the end people were landing like right at the bottom of the slope. was a really sick comp considering how it looked when i got there earlier on this afternoon

so they made the jump snoflex? people hit a snoflex jump that big and did double corks on it?

half the in run was, then the bottom part was snow jump was all snow. but still quite a sketchy run in as the speed wasnt consistent all the way down

Get well soon Richie Permin....looks like he got hurt pretty bad when he crashed onto his side (ribs or hip i think)

so sick to hear it went down so well! were the crowd getting noisy!? yea when i left at 3:30 it looked like a complete washout, i was getting ready to see all the guys slate london in their blogs but guess it turned out pretty awesome! good stuff london!

^^ it was Permin that got stretchered off
such a sick event!! cant beleive they pulled it off after what it looked like in the morning, but props to Woodsy for sacking up and trying it first, was so much drama with that and the finals being won on the last run with a 99! was insane.

Just got back from the event. it was MAD! Major props to all the athletes, the jump was looked so sketch. Got there early cause i didnt want to miss anything and the landing looked terrible. Well done for fixing it up enough. Woodsy first hit landed so hard i didnt think they would throw down the way they did. Final was amazing, just kept getting better and better. Awesome event.

Coreys first major comp back and he wins the rail jam and then gets 6th in big air against all the big names!!! So sick, level 1 closing seg this year? I think so.

so sick to see corey doing nose butter 9 blunt, refreshing to see someone doing somethong nrw and fresh.. respect corey sooo dope! Im stoked though

For anyone who is interested the coverage from the event is being shown on UK terrestrial Channel 4 at a date yet to be decided. Hopefully they will stick it on 4 On Demand so the rest of the world can watch it too.

Read the SkiUnion report (link posted a few posts above) it really sums it up well.

Was a proper miracle that the comp happened; about 4:30 am all the new snow that was being created on the inrun avalanched down the 46 degree slope, taking out the base layer from the 2 days before; leaving about 25 tonnes of snow in the transition. If this wasn't bad enough. it then pissed it down with torrential rain for about 3 hours.

The snowmaking equipment also failed; the nitrogen tanker having a fault, meaning we could make no more snow. for the runout or to replace the top of the runin.

We spent a few hour hauling bins full of snow up the landing with ropes to try and rebuil dthe runin, but whatever we did the rain washed away. My early morning work shaping the kicker was even wasted as, although we covered it to protect from the rain, the humidity jusst destroyed it.

From about 9 we had a few sketchy hours trying to find something to do, but any work done immediately vanised under the rain; the riders lounge was full of anxious pros; wondering if their trips from the US, Europe, Japan and Australia would be worth it; and considering alternative option for the day. Matt Walker's idea of taking all the prize money, putting it behind the bar and awarding firt place to whoever could drink the most was popular (especially with me), Colby West remained positive, his attitude giving us motivation to bust out some extra effort with the remaining snow.

It wasn't until 11:30 that we were able to actually get some proper work in to try and rescue the situation, however everyone manned up and in just 3 and a half hours we managed to create something that worked.

Massive props to everyone who worked hard to get the comp going; to Woodsy for dropping in first to test the speed, going huge in the process (also for being first to double flip it); and to the rest of the riders for sticking around instead of going off to the pub.

Watch out for the full report and Pete Wilson's shots in the next couple of days.
