Holy wow. That is a crazy line up. i don't understand how they always manage to pull together such amazing lineups. At least I think that lollapalooza has had good ones in the past years...
 
A lot of people bitched about this years, but that happens every year at every festival. Im super excited, the EDM collection looks like its gonna be unreal
 
The 4 main headliners are crazy, the EDM is very good, and they have a wide collection of folk and bluegrass artists that i love as well.
 
I talked to my friend about it and we both agree that they have everything pretty well covered, the only thing that could be a bit better would be the pop/rap, but they still have some descent performers
 
Only to be matched by its Canadian counterpart, Osheaga.

I want to go to both. Osheaga might be where I end up though.

I reallllly wanted to go see Sabbath, Jack White and RCHP though.

Really? I'm from Montreal and I might not even go. Some of the bands are the same (as lollapalooza), but for the most part I felt that they had better lineups in the past. The bands/artists that stood out for me the most at Lollapalooza were specifically bands that aren't at osheaga. Not that I am going to Lollapalooza anyways...
 
The thing is, it's the same weekend as Lollapalooza. So be bands will be travelling to and forth. Lollapalooza sure seems to have some better acts, but, I'll factor that out and go have a good time in Montreal with my friends.

With it being in Montreal, I have an excuse to go to Montreal for the weekend. Whether I fly or not. Road trip would be fun, but that's a long drive from Alberta.
 
Yeah, if you are going with your friends it should be a great time.

But you are driving/flying from Alberta just for one weekend in Montreal? Wouldn't it be more worth it to stay a for a bit longer?
 
Sure would be worth it to stay longer, since the drive is 3700 kms. Which I'm not into. I'm backing out of the driving thing, it would be incredibly expensive to drive, especially since I don't have the most fuel efficient car.

Plus, if I fly to either Osheaga or Lolla, I can leave Thursday after work, and then leave Sunday night. BOOM!

But god damn, I'd love to go to a music fest like this.
 
might be a stupid question, but how are so many bands playing at osheaga and lollapalooza when theyre on the same weekend? just playing different days i guess? but there are a lot of acts on both those lineups.
 
They usually try and have different bands play so there arent overlaps. Also to the guy that asked I have my 3 day passes already.

If anyones going fuckin lemme know, thats awesome
 
Lolla is waaaaay to much money, even for what you get. I think I'll be going to pitchfork for half the price unless I can get some last minute tickets from someone who can't make it. Pitchforks got sleigh bells and hot chip. I'd sooner go to that if I even go to any of them.
 
Dude. The chili peppers, jack white, and Black fucking Sabbath are playing. What more do you need in a festival? I wish I could go. All of the smaller acts are amazing too.
 
Guess it would be RHCP too...Well damn..Not as interesting....

I want to get to some music fest this summer. Room mate leaves to Coachella next week, jealous. Lolla seems too far out to make it happen, plus, by the time I get money, they'll be sold out.

Calgary Folk Fest better deliver.
