Sure, you won't notice a difference between 4 meter cables, but you might with 50 foot cables. I would never buy a Monster HDMI cable without first using an inexpensive cable to see if a Monster one is necessary, but I have definitely come across situations where long inexpensive HDMI cables have yielded noise and gamma shifts and Monster cables of the same length have not.
