LOIC, or Low Orbit Ion Cannon, is a program that is perfectly legal, where you type in someone's IP or a website, and press GO, LOIC will ddox that ip.

This disgusts me, here's why.

Any kid with an internet connection and no basic understanding of hacking(aka script kitties), can DDOX you and they can get away with this.

DDOXing is a crime punishable with up to 5 years in prison, depending on the target.

what do you guys think about LOIC?

Anybody?

Except a DDOS attack by a kid living in his mom's basement will do nothing to you. You need thousands of the simultaneously to do anything remotely irritating.

It's mostly used on web severs though, with large companies and many many coordinated attackers. I really have no idea how this would affect the average consumer with a personal machine.

Sure, LOIC can be legal. Why not? Some kid can ping your network for a few hours and give himself the grandest pleasure of being a l33t haX0r.
