But really I just avoid buying food at the hill. Even if you have the money to waste it's usually not that great, expensive and crowded.

Eat anything before you go and eat at home or in the way home.

Ride hard enough that you dont even think about food. Usually the only days Ill get food is if we ride till like 3 or 4. Considering I don't always eat before work(midnight) usually don't eat during the shift, and many times don't get food after, myself and the squad get hungry sometimes.

Honestly even with 50% of meals i prolly only bought food 4 or 5 times at the mtn all season. If you're hungry ride hard or drink another beer. Yolo

Meat platter + season pass discount and you and your brodie are feasting like kings under twenny bucks. Not a crazy sick deal, but a baller lunch on special occasions when goin bell to bell is a game changer.

At Sunday River and Sugarloaf they have a mountain grocery store that is a 3 min walk in ski boots on the front of each respected lodge. Here they sell things for a much more reasonable price and you can get deli food and other non fried food. I think they even have a microwave if I remember correctly.

if you are at a nice-ish resort fuckers will leave sooo much food and then throw it out. Especially if it's a family with kids. Just chill by the trash/recycle/compost area and wait for dingdongs to come up with half plates of nachos, fries, whatever. Ask politely and BOOM you're set. You'll save a shit ton of money and eat like a god damn king!

This was pre corona virus though soooo idk how good to go it is now.

My mom used to drop me off with a shit ton of pbj sandwhiches when I was a kid. On the weekends and holidays I was at the mtn from 830 An till 9 or 10 at night every day. Shit was dope. Eventually kids caught on to it and started raiding my stash occasionally. Had to keep it hidden.

Honestly forever iver pbj sandwiches still though lol.

ye, sit near the trash cans and intercept all the 20% eaten dishes. maybe didn't age well in retrospect of the virus to recommend eating strangers' food, prob would still do it again next year tho.

Looking real young has its benefits. I’m 16 but can pass as 12-13. I would always just get lemonade in a water cup and if someone stopped me I’d act all dumb and shit and then ask if I needed to dump it, and ofc they said no

That's just theft, dipshit.

pocket beers and pocket snacks are enough to make it through the day for me. No way in hell I'm spending $26 on a fucking burrito #fuckyouvail

Back in the day I used to grab a big handful of Saltine crackers from the soup area and get bunch of ranch packets. If you scarf enough it will usually hold you over the rest of the day.

This is what you do:

bring some ramen noodles and ask for or get a cup of hot water- most resorts have this. Then simply put the noodles and flavor in the water and mix it up and boom you have a hot meal

Wasn’t this on „stomp it tutorials“

Or just sprinkle the seasoning on the ramen brick and eat it on the chair. The luxury of hot food isn't core.

95% of lodge food is mediocre at best and im not usually willing to drop money on food. Usually just put some peta bread in my jacket and eat it on the lift then drink water so I feel pretty full.

-Depending on where you ski/work, if you are around all the time and get to know the staff sometimes they will surreptitiously wave you through or give a discount or the cooks will hide a few extra pancakes or eggs on the plate.

-I have gotten free meals for unloading the sysco truck when the caf was slammed.

-The best deal I've seen was a basket full of day old sandwiches at Whitewater for a loonie each.

-Way back in the day I used to buy chili or soup from my home hill and load my pockets up with all the crackers they had.

-At an event where there was a nature valley tent I loaded a backpack with about 70 bars.

-On weekends when there's a ton of staff around I usually finish everyone's fries which they inevitably don't finish.

-The one time I went to Whis my pass card wouldn't work and they gave me a $20 voucher because I had to wait about 15 mins for it to get sorted out. I got a burger platter with it and was surprised how good it was.

- I always just carry snacks in my pockets because I'm usually on the hill around 6 hours a day.

-The snow school director where I work also has a drawer full of clif bars in cases someone doesn't have a lunch.

-Have ordered pizza to the hill or designate someone to do a take out run.

I keep a roast beef sandwhich in my pocket and eat it on the lift. Sometimes it gets smashed but it doesn't change the way it tastes

Two words: oyster crackers

They're free at my two local mtns and each pack has 70 calories of pure carbs. You can easily eat like 7 of them and that's a meal right there in terms of calories.

Lotta ladies where I'm from keep smashed roast beef in their pockets. Must be popular.

ski coaches and instructors are like the only people who could get away with helping clear their kids plates of food, like you''ll never see a peewee or high school football coach askin whats up with his runningbacks lunch situation for the day

1. Tell homies you are doing one more run while they go order food

2. Show up 20 minutes later in the cafeteria

3. Homies have already eaten and some will not have finished their food

4. Eat the food your homies have not already eaten

There are no downsides it always works

These are pretty good hacks

All I can come up with is sneaking in some rhum, get a hot chocolate and turn a 3$ beverage to a 12$ mogul smasher at the bar.

before the comps me and the homies spoon raw honey packets into our mouths on plastic spoons.

Gets us hyped and sugared up

You must be skiing with 5 years old if they can’t finish there food

Chicken under the sea

Can’t remember the last time I didn’t just bring something from home though

Ketchup packets and hot water and you have tomato soup and crackers.
