Locked Gas Tank

So the other day my friend had a new system put in his car in which they messed with all the wiring and stuff. We went to fill up on gas this morning and to our suprise, the gas tank was locked (it's automatic and unlocks with button on key). We figured it's because the new system and all the new wiring but we need to fix it to... well... go places.

We called the place that did the system but we couldn't make it there on our amount of gas, altough he did tell us about some manual override lever or button in the back under a panel that unlocks the gas tank in case of an emergency or something. but we can't seem to find it.

He has a 2001 mercedes benz ML 430 and no owner's manual. we really need to find this manual override and quickly

+k for all help

you're right.. i never would have thought have google.. i only tried it for about 3 hours.. so i figured maybe someone on here just might know a simple override that all cars might have

A jackhammer would solve this problem. Sorry man i cant actually help you ive never heard of that happening before

I don't have a benz, but in my car the manual override is on the front passenger side, between the glove box and the floor on the actual side panel. My mom's in the center counsel.

Good luck

just had to buy an online owner's manual ($6) and dig through some wires and whatnot to find the locking mechanism.. it's kinda ghetto fixed until he can get it in. and who cares if he has a nice car when he's 16.. he's an only child and worked 2 jobs for summer and winter to help pay..

but whatever, it all worked

google has been clutch so many times for me when it comes to car issues.

glad you figured it out though.
