Little higher end camera help

I'm looking for a good DSLR camera to shoot with for next season. My budget is up to about 1400. I'm going to be mostly shooting video with it but will do some recreation photography as well. I'm looking for good quality video and solid pictures. Thanks

canon t3i then spend rest on glass and glidecams. "canon t3i" is the "fulltilts" of the media and arts section. Fyi I know nothing about cameras don't listen to me.

for ballin' on a budget. I personally would pick up a gh2 for cheap on Ebay ( 600 ), some decent midrange-telephoto ( remember the 2x crop ) (300), and a tokina 11-16(500). And that brings you to 1400.

Get a Canon t3i/t4i/t5i (little difference between all those) (600D/650D/700D in other countries)

Spend some money on a few extra batteries, they go faster in the cold.

Spend some money on a tripod for those static shots (don't get something cheap, 2nd hand aluminium Manfrotto's from the 90's are heavy but excellent if you want budget)

Spend some money on proper class 10 cards. 2x 16GB cards beat 1x 32gb card. (You won't lose all your footage if you lose a card.)

Now you have a shitload over for glass:

You can invest in an adapter, go to a local thriftshop and get some legacy glass. You are using manual focus during video anyway. (Read the excellent vintage glass thread in this forum section.)

In terms of new glass:

The Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X is the staple NS lens.

The nifty fifty is considered a must buy (for photos)
