List off Skis with 2.5mmx2.5mm edges?

Kitten factory-rayzrblaydz

Jskis-whips

Armada-THalls, Ar7, pipe cleaner, BDogs, Alpha x, El rey.

lots of companies use close to 2.5x2.5 and when you put them next to each other you cant tell the difference. most park skis have thick edges, so edge maintenance is much more important then having the maximum thickness IMO

"marketing snags another one" . some companies like cough, k2, armada cough, cough claim to have 2.5mm edges but, in reality only the dimensions of the edge is 2.5. heres a super useful thread to take a look at . it should answer all of your questions. i ride kitten fact rayzrs and they are 2.5 by 2.5 and are amazing. in combination of 1.8 mm 4001 bases theyre literally bombproof. no core shots at all this season or edge cracks ( with proper detuning underfoot)

so. heres that other thread that was really useful.

my bad, k2 often claims to have a 3.5 in some cases. when choosing a ski make sure they list both dimensions. not just a 2.5 or something

To expand and maybe clarify on what shin-bang is saying, K2 advertises that they use 3.5mm edges. Which is true, BUT they don't use 3.5 by 3.5. They do 3.5 by 1.2 or something like that. Armada has similar false advertisement, as do a lot of companies. Right now 2.5 by 2.5 are pretty much the best.

Also not all batalla skis have 2.5 by 2.5, just the park reaper and spriggs. All ON3P have them. And only the rayzrblayd from KF.

Another note- a lot of companies use 2.2 by 2.2 and such, they don't suck, theyre just not as durable.

True...but when I can detune my edges to almost round and still have more edge left over than the average park ski that isn't detuned it does make a difference. I have never made it through a season on a pair of park skis without 2.5mmx2.5mm edges without significant edge pull outs, I can make 2.5mmx2.5mm edge skis last a full season and then some.

Also I'm curious if you've actually seen a pair of skis with 2.5x2.5mm edges, because the difference from any other park ski is pretty noticeable...

if you look at salomon nfx which has 2mmx2mm of line which has 2mmx2.5mm and compare to a Armada ski with 2.5x2.5 the difference of half a mm is very small. i agree with you that 2.5x2.5 will be the most durable i dont doubt that, but other edges, that are half a mm smaller, i think will still do the job for many people.

That's just the type of steel. ON3P, batalla, and many other companies use that type of steel. You can always measure your edges with a ruler

Rockwell 48 is the microhardness rating for the steel.
