There is no lipslide, the trick doesn't apply to rollerblading or skiing.

In skateboarding a lipslide is a boardslide where your back truck goes over the rail instead of the front, its harder I guess.

u can lipslide in skiing. Hit a hand-rail from the left side and slide it right foot first. So your tails go over the rail first.

Dude, there totally is...

Assuming you slide right foot forward hit the kicker to the right of the rail and pop 90 with your tails over the rail and then land like you usually would.

Its not how good you ski, but how good you look in the lift line that counts.

Did I mention Casey has a vaginer? I didn't? Oh, well he does..I heard it smells silly.

Thats a backside in my book.

Erich, you weren't supposed to tell anyone about that, jesus.

I don't think you can backside or frontside on skis, can you silly puss? Its either switch or unnatural with skiing and a lipside is neither.

i pretty much thought lipslides are a board trick in the sideways stance.. but i guess we gotta name everything after other sports.

there's a big mixup between boarders and skateboarders who snowboard. see you can get onto the rail with your face forwards to the rail. that would be a frontslide in some boarders books. but your back is to the hill... a backslide to other boarder. so lipslide needed to be used to clarify. a front side lipslide can only be one thing. front to the rail and do a lipslide on and your body is facing forwards.if your back was to the rail and you lipslided onyour back would also be behind the rail. see what I'm saying? it's difficult but it makes sense.

it doesn't really need to be used for skiing but we don't have a frontside/backside and we can do what some people call backslides and frontslides so lipslide again stops confusion.

and that's my schpeal.

Why would you want to lipslide?? First of all if you were lipsliding a quater pipe or a half pipe made of snow you would totally ruin the edge thus skiers after you would not get as much air. Second of all handplants are better :)

What's it called when you're right foot's forward on the rail, you pick up your right foot (only grinding with the left ski) and grab your rigth ski? What's it called when you do the opposite, left foot forward, and you grab the right ski?

Isn't it frontslide and backslide or somethin

Casey is completely correct. It is either a frontside or a backside on skis. A lipslide is on a skateboard or snowboard. Its like calling makios 50-50's ....

it kind of makes sence, but still isnt a lipslide. you cant do that on skis. your tails going over the rail means nothing. it may be what pros call it, yet the trick is nonexistant.

I don't like the term lipside... in inlining it's called either backside or farside.

well whatever you guys can sit here and argue for the rest of your lives, but I'm still gonna call it a lipslide whether thats right or wrong.

Stuharvelson...how is it no existent? It totally changes the physics of a rail slide...have you ever tried one? It is a lot harder. That's like saying a regular grab with a spin is the same as an opposite hand grab. It changes everythig...it is more difficult.

The real issue here is that there is inconsistancy as to which sport we are referencing our tricks to. Some use rolling as a base because the stance is the same and many of the tricks are the same, other's use snowboarding as a reference. The deal is, unless everyone unamimously decides to go with one or the other (which will never happen) there will always be discrepencies. Its really not a big deal if everyone can just get over themselves enough to realize that as long as you know what someone is talking about, then it doesn't matter.

the thing is... everyone already says lipslide. so people will probably say that. if not and you say backside, everyone will still understand.

i think it is just what makes more snese. i mean with skateboarding lipslides look exactly like skiings so called lipslides so why call it anything different. its just easier to call them lipslides

So is there a frontside/backside lipslide? Because skateboarding and snowboarding has that but I really can't see how that would apply.

why yes i have tried a 'lipslide'. it is extremely difficult. the reason for its nonexistance was that i think we should make refernce to rollerblading. i just think we should be giving rollerblading some credit, considering all the jibbing and grabs look very alike. skateboarding has nothing to do with skiing, and skiing cant be inspired by it either.

Unnatural, natural, frontside, backside, lipslide, are all words to describe where the placement of our feet are on the snow going into a jump or to a rail. Some people like yourselves will argue over what to call these things. Call it what you want to but if no one understands you then you look like a dumbass. If you say fs or bs, people will look at you like your a dumbfuck. Fuck the names, just ride!

liek i said.

you can go on one way and come off that way or another way, or go on the other way and come off that way or the other way. done.

kamikazee, farside is between topside and regular. for example if you did a 'topside' soul down a ledge on your right foot, with the ledge on your right, you couldn't fully topside it b/c your foot wouldn't be locked on. hence farside.

in sk8ing, left foot first is frontside, and right foot fitst is backside. except on a ledge, where if your back is against the ledge, even if your leftfoot is first. then it's backside.

backslide is one foot on your back foot with your frame pointed down the rail like a royale

This subversive propaganda has been brought to you by The Republican Army.

All i know is in snowboarding it you approach the rail with the rail in front of you and you jump forward towards the rail its a front slide and if you get onto the rail on the opposite side with your back towards the rail its a back slide, i think thats right, whats it called when you slide funbox on the front tips of your skis?
