I know, haha, and I can't hate on kids being stoked on em either. I think everyone starts on k-feds and just feels like a boss.

What are you talking about? That transition has been happening for a few years. 2007-10, every edit was literally a contest to do the most switchups on a flatbox.

The last two seasons have ushered in the popular opinion that hopping around on rails like a kook just isn't that cool.

Granted, there are people that always felt that way and people who have been skiing in a....shall we say...less busy fashion? for years, but it's been fairly recent that you see more and more people getting away from switchups. This phenomenon is particularly true in park skiing.
 
a front 270 is one of things you just do but it doesn't add anything to your trick. like hitting a rail and coming off the end without planning something you are gonna land forwards or backwards or front 270. you just do them they aren't tricks. they just happen.
 
I think front switch ups are the ugliest trick. It's ok if you are just doing like a classic 270-fs switchup- bs 270 but if you go on normal and then fs switch up and then fs-270 out. man that looks bad to me, it's not technical but it also has no flow. you move your skis a full 360 without actually spinning whatsoever.
 
^Chicken's got it right. Front 2s are just kind of something that happens and front swap front 2s are ugly as shit yo!
 
no doubt 2s on feel sicker. that doesnt mean you should just stop doing other tricks though, just add them to the arsenal.
