I was basically trying to find out why my friends Linux is making my houses shared wifi sooo slow, and I ended up getting mad, and typing "LINUX IS GAY!" into google. To my surprise, the fifth highest search that came up was, the wiki page of an organisation called: Gay Nigger Association of America

At which point I started laughing uncontrollably. Continuing to read the wiki page I find out that they are a trolling oranization, that troll big campaigns and shit.

sometimes linux computers don't play nice with the network card in the laptop and have lots of packet loss which I guess might slow down the network a bit. probably not really noticeable though. every house I have lived in it's the guy with windows who always slows the internet down because they played lots of videogames.

and gnu/linux is orders of magnitude better than fucking windows or osx. plus you can get almost all the packages you need for free.
 
Even if you had packet loss on 1 computer it wouldnt matter.

only way that computer would slow the network down is if its utilizing a majority of the network speeds. Unless you have a managed switch and doing all dhcp routing through that computer and its nic sucks
 
yea i dono its fucking weird, everytime he switches on his linux the internet for the rest of us on PC and Mac works really really slow. Might have to do with something else by coincidence but its seems as if its slowing everything down. I was just really surprised by the google search haha
 
maybe hes seeding files off his linux computer and when ever its on mad people are downloading his mega stash of child porn
 
When I had the problem it was with my macbook retina. Not sure what card, some broadcom thing. It worked, just not well. I am not running linux on metal anymore though so it doesn't matter. If ubuntu 13.04 comes with some out of the box solutions to the retina display then I will install that and if not i'll sell my MBPr and buy a system76 or something.
