well I got the bug and converted everything to linux.

my home computer is running Fedora Core 5 (Linux)

my ipod is running podzilla or ipodlinux (linux)

my wireless router is running DD-WRT (Linux)

my DVD player runs uClinux (Linux)

my Treo 650 is running linux

my PS2 is running Linux

my PSP is running linux

my refrigirator and my microwave are not running linux (unfortunatly)

alot of these things I just did for the hell of it. because the Treo 650 doesnt have a plan anymore now that im getting a Treo 700p, also the PSP im selling and the DVD player runs linux standard so I ddint really do anyhting.

ipod linux stuff is so dumb. i had it for a while, and only used it to play doom, but it drained the battery so fast

well no warrenty is void.

on a computer its a normal operating system.

on the ipod theirs no opening the ipod so the hardware warrenty is untouched and you can always use apples update utility to bring it back to regular standards,

in a PS2 its just like most mod chips and the warrenty would be void if the PS2 were still under warrenty

as for the Treo it was going to be a paperweight anyways

the PSP is something I was selling anyways

the DVD player was untouched it just came with linux because of how great it is.

and the router can also be brough back to its original state at any time.

I recommend using the router thing its really cool. and it already runs linux out of the box your just adding a more functional version of linux.

their just fun projects to make the time go by. im getting the new touchscreen ipod thats being anounced at the end of the month of August (hopefully) and being able to play videos on my old ass ipod photo is pretty cool

the only linux conversion thats really useful is the router one.

the operating system its really great (I have to keep one machine windows for Avid and photoshop though)

the rest do add functionality to the stuff but it really makes them cooler toys than they already were, nothing much on the side of productivity

its no where near consumer level ready. its only for dihard geeks who want to do it for the fun of it. if you put ipod linux on your ipod you shoulod have known that. its still in Beta and the project will probably die before they get everything they want too functioning at 100%
