Link to icons instead of uploading them

Hey harvey you should have an option where you can use links for your icon as well as just uploading small ones...i have a bunch of dope animated icons i want to use but the file is waaaay to big. A bunch of other sites do it and its coo.... just a thought

just a thought on the poor users still connected via dial up. they still have to downlaod the massive icon files which slow everything down. by limiting the size aint Harvey doing them a favour?

well if they are downloading the icon, the rest of the page will still load perfectly, just the icon will load after, so its really doing no hard to dail up users, and it still dosent take that long to d/l 20K on a phone line. if anything it would save a very miniscule amount of bandwidth.. i think..

Im pretty sure that the icons take up virtually nothing in terms of bandwidth and server space. I cant imagine it would be worth it not to mention it would slow down the loading of the site because we would have icons on really slow servers.
