Line Sick Day, what's the niche?

Hey all, looking through the Line 2013-14 catalog and wondering what gap in the market the Sick Day was intended to fill.

If I understand right:

The Opus and The Bacon - powder and all mountain freestyle skis respectively

The Influence and the Prophet - big mountain/charging skis

Chronic and Blend - all mountain (with some park)

Most others - park

Sick day - powder? not twin tip? not sure what these are for or why I would choose them over opus or influence if I wanted a wide ski

Thanks for your help guys.

Sick days will be lighter I think, and the flat day is better for touring. Basically they are a more traditional powder ski than the others and are meant for the everyman, not just jibbers or chargers.

I'm 30 this year and I didn't venture into the park at all this past season. Instead I went bigger and steeper, and spent more time in powder. My most fun days were just resort cruisin' with friends who weren't serious skier. Sounds like these could be a potential pick for me next season? I was thinking of Bacons before I saw these, but if I'm not really doing any jibbing maybe I don't need to be mounted so close to center. Looks like they have low tails though, I did spend a good amount of time riding switch this year...

They are also moving the recommended mounting point on the Bacons back to the -60mm mark for all mountain performance, -20mm being 'Eric's choice' for more jibbing.

I'd say that if you want to ski switch a lot, you might even want to go closer to center than the recommended line.

But if you are going very big and steep - depending on your weight, skiing style and skill - you might want to go for a stiffer and more stable ski.
