Line Sick Day 110 or K2 shreditor 102's?

Hey i found 2 really good deals on the skis listed in the title. I want an all mountain powder ski that will mostly be used for trees, moguls, and groomers. I also like to jump off alot of natural feature but never spend much time in the park.I ski at jay peak in Vermont and we actually get a ton of snow for the EC. So im wondering what will be the best for me.

I usually get twins casue they are the cool thing but would it be silly to go with the directional sick days? I need help decidimg. Which is better:

on piste?

in pow?

in trees?

moguls?

and on landings?

I ski agressivley and this would be my first non twin and first fatter ski. What should i go with.

BTW i am 150 lb and 6 feet?

Also what is a good size?

I want a ski that will rip groomers when there is not kuch snow but be able to float and turn on a dime in the trees, muguls, and off piste trails.

Looks like the sick day is a better option for what you are describing! I'd probably go 186cm if I were you, that should be around your size tip to tail, line measures very short tip to tail compared to the stated length!

Looks like you don't have a fat ski, what else do you have? The sick day should be a good pow/all mountain ski for what you are describing, so no reason to look elsewhere specially with a good day you seem to have!

My friend has the Sick Days and he likes them a lot. Skis them mostly on the East Coast, but takes the out West a couple times a year and they do great in pow too. They are directional so if you want to ski or land switch, might not be the best option. They have twice the tip rocker as they have in the tail.

I'm leaning to the sick days but is there any disadvantage to a non twin other than not going backwards? Also which ski has more rocker and which one is softer? Will the sick day still be a very fun ski on days where there is not much snow because I can only afford one ski

No there isn't really any other disadvantage, but if you want to land switch off of rails or jumps, you might notice it. Also, since there largely for powder, you'll probably mount that the Sick Days back from center for increased flotation, which will hurt performance in the park. They should ski great on non-pow days too.

Ya I'm not planning I going in the park for rails maybe some jumps but mostly rocks and other natural features

the sick days are an incredibly boring line of skis. They're pretty dead feeling most of the time. I had nothing but fun demoing the 102's at the SIA on snow demo.

Ok I'm really stuck on what to get I want fun but am not that into park id rather explore the trees and all over the mountain. Will the sick days still be surfy poppy and fun? Btw I am very lightweight and still a teenager

Hey man, i was first really intrigued by the sick day 95's for EC. But then realized that they aren't a full twin, i backed off. I heard them described as a light surfy type ski but i have never been on them. I ski a similar way but a little more aggressive. I ended up buying the SFB's. Just got to my house today. Everything i have researched about them describes what you like. Only difference is they are a full twin and are to be mounted -2.5cm from center. I read they are an amazing playful all mountain ski. They can handle everything exceptionally, except for moguls. They can still ski moguls but not to the same ability as other skis. I'd buy the SFB"s if i were you.

Whether or not you agree with their rankings Freeskier's buyers guide ranked the Sick Day as following

Carving 4.3

Stability 4

Versatility 3.9

Playfullness 4.1

Float 3.1

all out of 5

I have to agree with this. We got both of next years models in our demo fleet at our shop. The Sick Days were very blah and most of the other guys from work (former racers) I ski with agree. The 102s however were extremely fun, torsionally rigid so there is good edge hold and more stable at speed but also soft for pow and jibbing around the mountain.

no, i do not agree with them. After they named the Afterbang, of all skis, the 3rd best ski on the market (or something ridiculous like that) a couple years ago, I lost all respect for their ratings.

So are the 110s really no fun? I want something I can push hard in crud and hardpark but still surf. I heard the 102s are way too soft. Also aren't the 110s lighter and more stable? I want all mountain fun not park fun so twin tip is not a priority. So will the 110s be better for grommers and the 102s better for pow?

none of them is something you can push hard in crud!

maybe you should be looking at something else! are you set to get either of these two?

Sick Days are nice skis but pretty directional if I remember correctly, the Shreditors will be better for park and switch. 110 will be much better for pow though.

So does anyone have any other suggestions maybe something a little wider than the shreditor a and a little less floppy but still twin tip

I can't get bacons because my twin brother just gt some

I really enjoyed them. Honestly I would take nyles reviews with a grain of salt. Quite often you will see him disliking a very good ski.

I really liked the sick days when I tried them. They are so light, so there swing weight is non existent. This means you can throw them around so trees are very easy. I liked the mid flex too, most line skis are silly soft but the sick days carved really well. They do still have a slight tail too and I found no issues carving switch on them, you would not want to ride deep pow switch on them though.

Overall I was really impressed with them and they would make an awesome 1 ski quiver.

Ok it seems like you know what your taking about but is there anything else you'd recomend I think I'd rather have a twin tip and something more medium flexed with a lot of rocker and preferably a little camber as well

^well the ski you just described is basically the on3p jmo. I have a pair and they are sick in soft snow. They have a tonn of rocker both tip and tail, that does mean they dont carve super hard but they are fun. The on3p is certainly a fun ski but very differnt to the line. Wehere as the line is light and nimble the on3p is much heavier and less nimble, very stable but you need to work harder.

I would also look at the armada arv ti/al dente. That is my fav all mnt ski (arv ti) its mid stiff, twin tipped and not a crazy amount of rocker. They carve better then the sick day or jmo and are overall a super fun ski.

Shreditor 102 for sure. Sick Days are a fun loose ski, but no twin tip. Shreditor 102 is the boss of all. Rips ice, park, pow, slush, bumps, trees, whatever.

It's arguably one of the most versatile skis around, durable as hell and one of my personal favorites.

Well for the easy the 102 would make way more sense. You can still ride powder on a 102 ski but they will be much more fun the rest of the time.

Try to demo if you can though. I like the k2 I just always find them a little heavy and not the energetic skis. Good but not my style so much. But they may suit you perfectly so demo and see what you like.

102 is way more versatile when it comes to ice. BUT as you say you want an All-Mountain pow ski, you should look at the 2015 Shreditor 102s compared to the 112s. The new 102s have WAY more rocker and a new tapered tip and tail. Honestly, but skis rip, solid hold underfoot.

How good are the deals on the sick days/shreditors? The Devastator from 4frnt is a sweet all-mountain ski that likes to charge and handles variety. They're 108 underfoot at 184(don't know if they'd be too short for you, 111 @194) and the reflect-tech makes them pretty good edge to edge. Plus 4frnt has a 40% off deal going on right now.

Shreditor 102's are really sick! They're narrow enough to rip around groomers and park, but they have enough rocker that they'll easily float on powder. Gonna try to get a pair next year myself.

More and more all mountain skis are leaning towards twin tip. Just because it's a twin tip doesn't mean its only a park ski. The bacons can go in the park but they were not made for the park at all.
