Looking at these skis and ive got some questions. I ski mostly all mountain, looking to get into a bit of park. Are these a good all around ski? Ive been skiing for like 25 years so id consider myself a good skiier, just new in the park. Im 6'1 and about 200lbs. Any suggestions on length? Im also looking at the armada ARV's.

I rented some prophet flites for a week-long trip to aspen. They were pretty fun, carve and handled nicely. Pretty stable at higher speeds too. Dunno about their park performance, I took a few laps one day when it got icier. On jumps they're not the greatest, and rails was similar. I'd probably recommend checking out some other skis for the park.

I actually use prophet 100s for park mainly because I've got no $$$ at the moment and my 05-06 park skis fell apart, as mentioned above they aren't the greatest but the way I look at it is when I get back on a proper pair of park skis I find it a hell of a lot easier ... The carve really well but as soon as you start hitting rails inevitably they loose all carving performance, for powder you would want something wider preferably but they still hold their own, ice they grip fine, moguls no problem just I have found a little tip deflection when trying to cut through crud but nothing to drastic ... In short they are not a specialist at anything they just perform well in everything, well maybe not park but they're not designed to be a freeski all mountain ski (if that's what you want from line look at the blend)

how are the chronics overall? im tryin to find some stuff i can try and demo this week to get a feel for the skis. ive been riding the same skis for like 10 years (old ass rossi pow airs)

I assume since you are EC you won't be skiing powder often so in that case I would go for Chronics ... I borrowed a pair once and they were so fun. They were so poppy and had a great snappy flex this coupled with their light weights made them such a fun and playful ski to ride, I would highly reccomend over prophets assuming you will be sking park and groomers not pow.

Yeah I ride primarily vermont so theres not really a lot of pow very often. Hopefully I can try and demo some of these skis this week

Ok, got a pair of 173 chronics to demo for tomorrow. 173 was the longest they had. The ski is listed at 499 and theyre having a sale so its 45% off, plus 35 bucks off for the demo and potentially more off since the only 173 they have is the demo ski so they would be selling the demo. Its got marker griffons on it already so i think those would be sold as well. Would the 173's be too short? I'm 6'1" and about 210. With the discounts it looks like it would come out to about 300-350 for practically brand new (doesnt look like anyone has even demoed these skis this year) skis and bindings. Worth it?

decent deal with the griffons but 173 is a little short for a dude of your size. 6'1 and i'd be looking in the 180-185 range. but, if you are beginner/intermediate, than a shorter ski will definitely do the trick if its a good deal. if you can't find the ski in a longer size than go for it.

this. Especially since you're just getting into park, a shorter ski won't be detrimental, but you will sacrifice a bit of all mountain performance. I'd definitely still go for it if I was in your position.
